We are getting our puppy in June! I've been reading and in one of my goldendoodle books a couple breeders mentioned doing tether training for the first 2 weeks they are home. Its basically keep the puppy with all day on a leash and then crate at night. That way they can't get into trouble or pee under the table etc. They said it can also speed up potty training. Has anyone had success with this?

I did intermittent tethering. I think it's a good idea if it works for you too

ive been doing tethering since my puppy was 8wks old.   Occasionally he is allowed off the tether.  He is 6months old now. i think it works for us.

Great! I think I read to do it for the first 2 weeks to establish good puppy rules and speed up potty training. I think that's what I'll focus on first.
Great! Do you have any tips for the first 2 weeks tethering? Just keep the pup with me all day on a leash? I'm sure it would tire them out too and hopefully ready for bed.

I would do it in a heartbeat if I were home with the puppy all day.  Knowing the signs of when your puppy is about to pee or poop, and then immediately getting the puppy outside to do it in the proper place is really key to potty training.  And as a bonus, this would also tend to keep you puppy out of trouble, because he'll always be nearby and less able to stealthily grab and chew things.
