I've read enough to expect our puppy to go through the dreaded landshark phase, but didn't expect it to start so soon.  We just brought her home on Saturday, and it seems as soon as she started to settle in and feel comfortable, those sharp little teeth came out.  Now she has multiple daily spells where she is nipping at whatever she can reach, including clothing, fingers, hair, and ears.  I've read many discussion threads here on Doodle Kisses on how to handle that; I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on good chew toys with which to distract the adorable little biting monster.

Thanks!

We've got the bully sticks and rope toys, might have to give baby carrots a try as well  :)

I remember this well, almost had me it tears. My girl is 7 mos now, and it is a very distant memory. Distraction with another toy first, so she knows what is expected. If she continues, I would remove myself for 30 seconds by going into the next room and closing the door. Basic commands especially 'sit' is extremely important. As she began to learn and got over stimulated from play which lead to nipping, a firm posture with your arms folded and a 'sit' will also break the craziness. By 4 mos when those teeth come out, the problem resolves. Consistency is key. Also encouraged kissing by rubbing a tad bit of butter on my hands. Kissing=lots of praise. You will get through it...promise ;-). Hang in there.

Thanks, Kathy....it's good to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel!  Sunny is four months old now and does seem to be slowing down with the biting.  Mainly it's the kids now, when they get her all revved up.

I just discovered Himalayan Dog chews . They last for days., and I have a girl that loves to chew. They are completely edible, all natural ad credibly hard
