So Annabelle woke me up at about 1am with heavy panting. After a few minutes of her not settling back down I turned on the light and saw that she had vomited her dinner all over my bedding. She had thrown up the night before and it went clear through to the mattress pad. There was a lot of laundry cleaning that up. So I went and got her cage and put her in it while I cleaned up the mess. She was still panting heavily. While I was cleaning up the mess on the bed she threw up a couple of more times and had diarrhea in the cage. There was so much I had to get her out to clean the cage tray better. While I am still trying to clean up the cage tray, she proceeds to have diarrhea all over the carpet and more puking. The vomit is becoming just liquid at this point. The diarrhea is going to take a steam cleaner I think, I cannot get it out of the carpet. I finally get everything cleaned up as good as it is going to be for 3am. She was still panting but seemed to have finally stopped everything else. The diarrhea stunk to high heaven. My husband and I could both smell it when we were downstairs and the bedroom being upstairs. She pretty much only eats Orijen dog food with maybe a recommended treat or boiled chicken once in awhile. Anyway I no sooner got the lights out and back into bed when she started vomiting again. Now I am up until 5:30am cleaning up various messes. Finally went back to bed for an hour. There has been no more vomiting or diarrhea, but she is lethargic. Which after what she went through during the night seems normal. I won't feed her today and when I do tomorrow it will be boiled chicken and sweet potatoes. This could not have happened at a worse time. Annabelle and I were going to Colorado to see my sister and her terminally ill husband in a few days. He has mesothelioma and I don't want Annabelle making him more sick. My husband was going to stay here and take care of winterizing the garden, but he would not be a good care taker for a sick Annabelle, while he is working hard doing that. Is this more than likely something that will run its course in a day or should I take her to the vet? I am running on empty at the moment and can't think.

Yes Amy, many worried doodle lovers here...hope all is well...waiting for update.
The vet suspects something she ate more likely. She is not a counter surfer and doesn't eat from the garbage. But outdoors, who knows. We live in the country and she is a bunny poop connoisseur. She liked to torment grasshoppers, until one spit on her. Hasn't touched one since. Her temp was normal. Her fecal test hasn't come back yet. That was kind of funny last night when she had diarrhea all over the carpet, I said to my husband, I need to go grab a paper plate. He said, I'm good, just get yourself one. She was feeling better yesterday during the day, but then last night just laid in her bed and didn't move. Maybe she was just worn out. I kept checking her to make sure she was ok. I gave her a little chicken and sweet potato last night, that was the only thing that was going to get her up out of her bed, so I could take her out to pee. I gave her a little bit of Mylanta per vet. So the vomiting has stopped. She still hasn't pooped at all since her last diarrhea episode yesterday morning. I really want to know if that is getting any better. This morning when I took her out to pee, she did her usual run back to me. She still isn't herself yet, but is improving. I may have to change her food to something for sensitive tummies. Although she has never done this. She vomits in the mornings once in a great while, but never has diarrhea. It was scary watching her go through that all night long, coming out of both ends. We do have an appointment Monday and will do further testing if needed. Would have to make an appointment with the University Hospital for that to see a specialist. She is not happy sleeping in a crate instead of on my comfy bed, but she is being a trooper.
I hope she continues to improve.
Thank you for the update. Hopefully this is over now.
Thanks for the update. Poor baby. Glad she seems to be doing better.
So delighted she is feeling better....poor sweetheart!
Her poop was normal this morning. She is back to her old self and wanting to play. It was freezing cold last night and I couldn't let her sleep in her crate. She slept with me on the bed and did fine. I am thinking it was something she ate. I would love to know what it was so this never happens again. Other than her dog food from dinner, I couldn't tell anything from what what she expelled. I was going to give half dog food and half boiled chicken and sweet potatoes for today just to play it safe. Maybe Monday start back with all dog food. Annie and I thank you for all your help and well wishes.
I'm so glad to hear she's back to normal today. Maybe it was just a stomach virus.
