I noticed that my puppy has these a sore on each of his front paws and I don’t know how he got them. Has any of you experienced this before? What can I do to treat them? The sore doesn’t affect his walking or playing but he will lick at his paws.

Thanks for your help!!!

This is the time of year when dogs may lick their feet due to allergies. If they do it a lot, they can cause a hot spot, or moist dermatitis, and that needs treatment by a vet. Otherwise, it can worsen into a severe infection. He will need topical treatment and possibly antibiotics or a steroid shot.  This looks like hot spots to me, and I would strongly suggest having your vet look at him.

I just realized you posted this discussion about your pup having allergies a month ago.

He really needs to see the vet, there's not a doubt in my mind that this is a moist dermatitis and it may already be infected.

Yup, I think these are hot spots. After the vet cares for them you may be able to treat them yourself if you catch them early.
Oh wow!! I will most definitely be at the vet first thing in the morning. I did post about his allergies and he’s been doing so much better with the Zyrtec and primrose oil. I hate to see him suffering. I can’t thank you both enough!!

Will be watching for an update on your sweet boy. Good luck at the vet.

I have no answers but just hope he gets better soon! Poor baby!
