Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi Doodle Friends!

Hank was just brought home this past week at 8 weeks old from GA. Here are his photos! What do we think his coat/ color will look like when he's older? He started off pretty curly and seems to be getting wavier. He is a mini f1b goldendoodle. Dad 30lb mini goldendoodle and mom 22 lb moyen poodle.

First pic is 6 weeks, second 8 weeks and third 9 weeks.

At almost 6 mos.. 25 weeks he is 25 lbs!

My not so mini goldendoodle. Almost 30 lbs at 6.5 months.

I think he will be pretty curly.  He's gorgeous!  He may lighten up later on.

Thank you! He is so sweet and learning so quickly. Your pups coloring is gorgeous!!!

Hank is getting bigger & fluffier!

Soooo cute!!!! He's definitely going to be a curly one!!!

Thank you! Still looking like a baby at 3.5 months.

awwwww!! so fluffy!!! I think around 4 months is when Charlie's adult coat started to show growing in. You'll probably be able to see a drastic difference in the puppy coat to adult coat transition. If you look at the roots, you might be able to tell now!

Thank you for the tip! I will keep an eye out. He is definitely lightening up too. I can see that growing in. As far as curls it's still hard to tell. He's just a big fluff ball at 15 lbs during our vet visit yesterday!

Usually if they have any curls at all in their puppy coat, then their adult coat will be curly. I have a loose curly pup and he was stick straight as a puppy! If you look in my pics, look at an older one of him as a puppy. I love Hank's coloring!

Charlie is a doll! And you are right, he was certainly straight. He looks super soft :)

So sweet! They grow up so fast, don't they?! And then at times, like when teething, not fast enough, lol! I like what Stephanie said...my dood is 4 months old and I think I can see his adult coat growing in especially along the top of his back, like along his spine. He's definitely got a wavy/fleece type teddy bear coat. I've noticed he's starting to shed a lot more now...just very fine little dust bunnies that I find tucked in corners, on the stairs etc. I don't think he's shedding his puppy coat, it's too soon isn't it? But might just be he's a shedder. :) I told my breeder from the get go I would be fine with that, allergies aren't a concern for me.

Yes, so far Hanks coat keeps growing and not shedding. I tested him with my highly allergic friend and she was fine with him on her lap for a 4 hour car ride-- was happy about that! Hank will be 4 months in a week so will be determining then ahh! I love his wavy hair but I definitely have to brush him after baths to get it wavy. Otherwise he gets pretty matted. Don't want a dog with dreadlocks! lol
