Hi,

Nala is due for her vet visit and I am wondering which vaccines your dogs get yearly.  I know some vary by region, but overall which are the core vaccines you let your dog get.  Nala is 2 btw.

Thanks so much,

christine & Nala

Yes, there is an injectable bordatella vaccine. The intranasal form seems preferable to me, but I don;t really know if there is a difference in terms of side effects.

Do you feel like the intranasal is more effective? Or better because it's one less thing we have to inject into their bodies? I admit, of all the diseases we vaccinate for, bordatella is the least of my concerns. Everything else seems so much worse. Lepto, Parvo, distemper, rabies. Bordatella is like a bad cold. I don't want them to get it, but it isn't the end of the world. Of course, I'm sure the doggy daycare doesn't want their entire clientele coming down with bordatella!

Bordatella is also the least of my concerns. But it's necessary for daycare, training classes, and some groomers, and I do feel like the intranasal version is less invasive.

Not sure why it is a core vaccine. To my knowledge there has never  been a confirmed death

Bordatella is not a core vaccine.

I asked my vet, the intranasal is more effective and covers against more strains.

Thanks, Stella, that's good to know.

Thanks, Stella.
