Those Who Have Healthy Paws Insurance, How Much Have Your Rates Gone Up Each Year?

I know we have had discussions here about the large annual increases people have experienced with PetPlan insurance. I'm wondering if those of you who have Healthy Paws insurance have experienced similar annual increases?
I'm trying to decide between the two companies. :)

I started out paying $36.72 in 2015. My monthly premium is now $43.44. Mine is 90% with an annual deductible of $250. I have never had any problems with them! Hope that helps!

Thank you, Kaitlin. That's with Healthy Paws?

Yes, Healthy Paws

We got Pet Plan when Jaxson was a puppy. After the crazy increases and being told he didn’t qualify for the annual deductible (probably because he had a minor claim) we switched to Healthy Paws.

We’ve had it for a little over a year now. It went up about $2 this year. We pay about $33/month. Jaxson is 3 years old and we live in Hawaii.  We have a $250 deductible and 80% reimbursement.

Claim submission is very easy with both companies.

Hope this helps. So excited to hear about the new puppy!

That is good to know because that is what mine went up. So maybe it goes up $2 regardless of whether you pay $25/mo or 35/mo.

It just kills me though that I would be starting off with a brand new puppy at $38.22/mo. Apparently I live in the most expensive area, lol.

I think I told them Jaxson was a labradoodle rather than mixed breed which some people have since said is cheaper.

Karen, is your puppy a poodle and not a doodle? Maybe that’s the difference?  Can’t believe you’d be more expensive than Hawaii!

Yes, he's a purebred Miniature Poodle.

When I'm looking at the Pet Plan quotes I changed doodle to poodle and nothing else, and it's more expensive for the poodle. I don't understand that at all. Do they really think hybrid vigor is a thing? Because I don't think it is.

It's not. And supposedly, they base their rates on actual claim experience.

Too bad they don't give discounts with proof of OFA testing on the parents. There are Poodles, and then there are Poodles, lol.

That is so true. I think they should take health testing into account with their rates. You should suggest that and see what happens!

I did suggest it. I don;t think the customer service person knew what I was talking about.
