Do they exist?
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've got a 6-7 hour drive home when I pick up my 8.5 week old pup on May 13. Then I'll have him home for a week to get some acclimation in. But then he'll be going to work with me. I can't trust that the areas outside my building can be trusted to be safe for the puppy to walk around on during both potty breaks & some walk-about-stretch-the-legs breaks.
I could maybe get puppy trained to potty pads, but he'll still need some walking about time. And perhaps for a short period of time I can haul him to the bathroom sink to wash off his paws - but I wouldn't think I'd be able to do that for the whole time until his 16-week vaccinations.
So, I wondered if there was a DIY solution I could put together to use with wipes (wash cloths) to wipe his feet when he is at work.

It's nice that your work allows dogs!
I was always under the impression that you mostly just have to keep them away from older, possibly unvaccinated dogs in that sensitive period. People and generally being outside is not a problem as long as you keep them from eating grass/mud that could have parasitic worms in it.
Well, here in New Mexico, parvo is highly prevalent & lots of people here do not vaccinate their dogs. I've had many people caution me to be very diligent about not letting the pup "touch ground" anywhere unless I am certain that no unvaccinated dogs could have been in the area. I'll certainly ask my vet at the first visit, but I think it's a big concern here.
And then I found out that a family down the street who has a cute little French bulldog has come down with giardia - he walks in our neighborhood. I sure don't want our pup exposed to that first thing!
Thanks for chipping in!
Hm, that's too bad, maybe it's because I'm a lot further North I think the winter contains the spread of things a bit. Our vet never said anything about it and people have their puppies out all the time.
Maybe the puppy pads would be your best bet then? Not ideal but if it's a virus then disinfecting afterwards may not be enough.
Yea! I'm hoping both the breeder (who is also in the SW) & the vet will have some suggestions to make our lives not too miserable until the full vaccinations can be finished.
I do plan on taking him out & about, just not letting him "touch ground"!
