Hi all,
I have a F1 Goldendoodlemand was wondering when he starts to shed his puppy coat? He is now 5 months and his coat is very scraggly and wavy. I was wondering if his coat will grow longer after he sheds his puppy coat?
Also, does anyone's goldendoodle shed? If so, do they tend to grow out of it or is it wishful thinking? I was told that most Goldendoodles don't shed.
Yogi has shed probably since he was 7 months, he is an f1 mini goldendoodle. He sheds a fair amount, but NO where near as much as my daughter's labs do. He also matts, I have to brush him out every few days.
Maci on the other hand does not shed (yet). She is also an f1 mini, and is 8 months old, she doesn't mat.....So who knows....mine are very different. Yogi's coat is very thick and Maci's is thin, finer, and curlier.
I suspect your dood will continue to shed, I always tell myself with yogi, at least if he sheds, that will be less hair left to mat.
Good luck and enjoy your puppy. At least brushing can be a good bonding time.
Tux is our first Golden. He’s 5 months and a F1B medium golden doodle. He’s super soft and wavy and so far does not shed or mat. When we comb him some hair comes off but it’s minimal. He’s such a good dog we love him dearly!
