Stella passed her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test yesterday! She is almost 9 mos. old. I decided after long deliberation to go ahead and say "what the heck". The worst that could happen is she not pass and we could always try again another time. So we went for it! I was really impressed with how well she did. She was a little "tuggy" a couple times but over all was a really good girl. I think it helped that I took her out for 30 mins. or so and play/trained with her to tire her out a bit. Or it may have been the stern talk I had with her in the car prior to going in...LOL. Which by the way would have probably been very funny to watch as an outsider. I do recall saying something like (in mean voice) I am sorry I have to talk to you like this but I really need you to behave for just 30 minutes... ok....can you do that? Please? The worst part for me was the the last test when we had to do the 3 min. seperation. So while I was sweating it out for the longest 3 minutes of my life I came back to find her amost asleep by the evaluators side.....
Way to go Stella and Belinda!!! That's awesome. You've got one fabulous pup on your hands! Just a few more months till you can take a therapy dog evaluation =)
