Ever heard of it?  I went looking for it in Monterey today but could not find it.  I thought it sounded interesting as it contains probiotics.  My guys don't want to eat the dry dog food (Solid Gold) but I think that is because I am giving them the good stuff (what we eat).

Anybody remember when our dogs all ate table scraps and were outside most of the time.  Maybe it was because we were on a farm, but I never remember buying a bag of dog food.  They ate what we ate.  I remember one of our dogs loved peas.

And I think I will start cooking for my dogs again.  I have been feeding Blue for several years and they are fine with it, but I am not.  Happy Dog is a mixture of dried veges and bulgar that I cooked for Hondo for two years.  I am going to look for something equivalent here in Southern Oregon if I can find it.  Always a challenge out there!

Honest Kitchen sells a dehydrated raw base mix to which you add your own meats, poultry, or fish. It's an excellent alternative to cooking from scratch, and you don't have to worry about including all of the vitamins and minerals dogs need, as they are all included.

I think that is the same thing as the Happy Dog that I was feeding to Hondo.  So, I will look around here for Honest Kitchen or Happy Dog or some reasonable facsimile.  Must be available somewhere in Southern Oregon.  Thanks for the suggestion.

if the food was not superior my 7 dogs and 6 smalll pups would have loose stools , if not superior, my picky eater would not be able to gain weight, if it were sub par all of my dogs coats woud not be so shiney and healthy soft, I do not  want to feed a food that is sub par because thats how much i care for my dogs. Nutrition for my dogs is all I concentrate on. Recipe changed w our latest food , this is why I had to change dog food brands yet again.

There are literally hundreds of different dog foods; join the Food Group here on DK and see some of those we recommend. There are also literally millions of dogs eating something other than LA who have shiny coats, small firm stools, and optimal health. (And of course, what breeder would say that her dogs didn't have these things, lol, no matter what they are eating? I've seen breeders who are feeding their dogs Purina Puppy Chow making these same claims about soft coats. ) Again, I repeat, there is nothing special about LA., and if you really care about nutrition for your dogs, there are much better foods available. Foods whose manufacturing is not subcontracted out.

But as a rep I get detailed discussion when any changes are made from the certified vet nutritionist/ Can you say the same? or do you have to wait a few months to hear about deaths of dogs then recalls usually when its too late. ....Hey say what you want, its a recommendation for those looking for a safe reliable company. If it meant to help someone who is having issues w present dog food I would send them to the organization web site and do without commissions. You can post without knowing it all and you could be a tad more polite also...just saying.

.and I stand by comments about LA and my present experience and feeling overwhelemed at the amt of dog food recalls this year alone !!! You cant deny the amt of recalls have increased, and to be fair , this company doesn't store their zillion bags in warm environemnts where mold can proliferate. My past client puppy owner , called me w a reaction her dog was having, and sure enough she emptied out the bag and found so much mold growth on bottom of her bag of dog food.

Yes, go by your own experience.  That is all we all can do.  There have been many recalls for many reasons and that is why I feel more confident cooking for my dogs.  Packaged dog food is like packaged human foods - some may be good but it is all about money.

And I stand by my comments. I do not take advice about any product from a person who is selling it. LOL, of course they are going to say it's wonderful. Duh.
Our recommended brands list here in The Food Group does not include ANY brands that have had  recalls, this year, last year, the year before that, etc.

Thanks again, Karen, for all your research.  You are right on!
