Apollo is a 12 week old goldendoodle. I’m curious how curly y'all think he will be when his grown up coat comes in!

Very doodley.  He is adorable!

Thank you! He is the sweetest boy! We all just adore him!

I say a loose wavy fleece coat. He looks like such a sweet boy

That’s what I’m hoping for, but we'll see...

I'd say the same thing.  Super fluff monster :)

Your Golden Retriever looks so much like my 13-year-old Bear who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in April 2017. Now we have an 8month old Australian Labradoodle.

Your pups are beautiful

Thank you! I am so sorry for your loss. Our Sherman is 10 1/2 and just the best dog. He is such a good big brother to Apollo.

Fluffy Doodle!  So cute!

Thank you!

I think Apollo’s adult coat is coming in curly? I’m attaching pics—thoughts?!?! He’s 6.5 months old today. The roots are curly but the ends are straight and it’s getting crazy looking. He’s still the best boy, but his coat is definitely getting high maintenance.

Will his adult coat be curly like the roots?

His coat texture looks a lot like Riley's.   Wavy at the roots, straightens out.  She is about the same age so unsure what her adult coat will be but I'm brushing her daily or every 2 days to prevent matting.  The brush I use is the Chris Christensen big pin brush (thanks Karen!) and it's amazing, doesn't hurt Riley's skin and does a great job on her fluffy coat.  She actually loves being brushed now lol.

I was taught to look at the doodles face and forehead to get an indication of what kind of a coat the pup will finish with.  They will go through a number of body coat changes in their first year, and may even shed one of them.  Apollo has the start of a beard already and his facial hair tells me that he will have a wavy coat, I would guess that his head hair feels silky soft under your fingers.
