I have 12 week old f1 Goldendoodle and within the last week or she’s leaving clumps of hair behind. She doesn’t shed very much and not much comes out with brushing but randomly I’m finding clumps of hair everywhere. Is this normal? Too early for coat change?

It is too early for a coat change.  Are the clumps what we call dust bunnies? Do you notice black hairs on your light colored clothing? My guess is you have a doodle that will shed.  This is more common than people think.  It is marketing hype that doodles always have the non-shedding coat of the poodle.  Many doodles shed, some as much as a retriever.

I agree, sounds like a shedder.

F1s vary from not shedding at all to being very heavy shedders.

Luna was our F1 goldendoodle and shed like a golden with a thick double coat.  We used to call Luna's hair everywhere "tumbleweeds" because they looked like hair version of tumbleweeds that would gather and float around if you stirred the air near them lol.  You'd also come away with a bunch of hair anytime you'd pet her.

Riley (F1 bernedoodle) is what I would call a "light shedder" by comparison so far at 5 months old, we'll see what happens when her adult coat comes in.  She does leave hair balls around the house but they are much smaller and gather less quickly than Luna's did even though she's larger than Luna.  When you pet Riley you might get a few hairs but unless you're looking for them you wouldn't notice.

I was thinking she probably is going to shed. I don’t ever notice it on our clothes or when I pet her, but there is some hair on her bedding. She just leaves little tufts of hair occasionally when she gets up.

I agree with Nancy. I think you have a shedder. It's very common for F1s to shed; mine shed as much as a Retriever.

you have a shedder I have an f1 and I was finding clumps I’d bake on every corner of each room we got a shark vacuum and it picks it up so I hardly notice it unless they’re in the corner of his crates I also brush him out every 2-3 days to help with the shedding
