Good morning,

Karen I was wondering if you could do a food review on this company, they were at a pet expo we attended and I picked up a few sample packs for the girls.  This wouldn't be a daily meal but maybe a weekly topper over their existing kibble?  The girls really loved it and the ingredients seemed healthy enough but based on my own eating habits I'm not to be trusted. lol

At the expo they had 4 flavors but I only see 3 listed here?  They tried the Thanksgiving and Shepherds, I think the last one was a fish base, maybe Ahi tuna?

I would stay away from this product. There is not enough information on the website for me to be able to recommend it. Nothing about sourcing, the nutritional profiles give only the barest information with nothing about the Omega content or other nutrient content, and nothing at all about who owns the company or makes the food. (And from what little information is given, it looks to be disproportionately high in fat.) A bit of research revealed that the company is owned by a Chinese man named Sau Cheng who calls himself a "pet nutritionist" but in fact has no education at all in anything related to dogs or to nutrition; his background, education and experience are in business administration and human  resources. https://www.linkedin.com/in/generalsau

Are any of the ingredients imported from China? Where do they come from? Who is formulating the recipes? Where are they made and by whom? These are things I would want to know before giving the food to my dog.

There are many different choices among our recommended brands for toppers for your dogs' food. I use Stella & Chewy's Meal Mixer nuggets. Any canned food from the list would also work. I would be happy to make other recommendations if what you're after is a food topper that your dogs will eat. But I cannot recommend Woofpak.

Thank you Karen they implied it was all locally resourced and prepared at their local warehouse.  This is why I turn to the experts! thank you.  Their last food I had to regularly add Stella & Chewy's, they loved the pheasant and it crumbled the easiest over their food.  Two eat out of a slow feeders so that's one reason I don't add wet food too hard to mix in under those conditions.  I was looking to add something on the weekends just to mix it up.  I've been adding green beans then the following week sardines leaving me with usually two more weekends unless I just alternate those two?  They all get a EPO nightly and Sassy and Josie get fish oil, unfortunately it gives Maisie the runs. If there is anything you might suggest for once a week added treat/health benefit I'm all ears. Oh Maisie also gets the probiotic you recommended (Proviable?), I sprinkle the capsule over her dry food.

"Prepared at a local warehouse" sounds bad to me, lol.

Is this woofpak stuff not wet food? The website didn't make that clear, but it sure looks like it to me. The stuff in that bag looks like canned dog food.

There's nothing wrong with just using the green beans and sardines. I find that the lamb S & C nuggets crumble really easily. But there's nothing wrong with using pheasant if that's what they prefer.  You can also try using chopped hard boiled eggs. Cheap, and you could chop them and keep them in a container in the fridge, nothing easier. You can also use the cheap canned pink salmon, although those cans are really big so not sure your three would use it all up in a couple of days. You can also just add a little nonfat unflavored yogurt. Ziwi Peak works well as a topper, but it's the priciest option out there.

It was wet food all fresh looking ingredients diced up real small (not blended) that's why I was hopeful, it actually looked human consumable. They may have used the term kitchen?  It's only about 20-25 miles from my home.  The sample packs I picked up I sprinkled a little in-between the kibble it was easy to add and the food separated easily.  Oh they love eggs, that would be easy to add to the slow feeders. They all get a small bowl of yogurt regularly, we call it ice cream. lol  Sometimes I add frozen blueberries to Sassys since she's the only one who likes them. I'll try the lamb S&C, I like to sprinkle in-between the kibble as I add it to their bowls so they have to work to get it.  Thank you
