We live near Chattanooga and have not met any other doodles out and about. We did meet 2 Goldendoodles in Obedience Class but have not seen them since. We also had a surprise meeting of another Labradoodle who looked just like Zeke (except for the nose) at the groomer but we didn't get to meet the owner. We've heard of other doodle owners but just haven't met up with any. Do any of you participate in a meet-up group? If so, how did you get it started?
I have met no doodles in my area. I just got my doodle and just learned about them 2 weeks ago when I got mine. Fell in love with him when I was looking for a maltipoo. Wanted to know what a labradoodle looked like wondering why a person would cross a poodle with a lab. When I saw one, and then researched about them I brought one immediately. I mean like the very next day, from a breeder. So I don't see any Doodles about.
Susan...Karen.... we have a great DK flyer you can hand out at groomers, etc to help bring people to your group here! Belinda put up flyers all over Richmond and her group has grown to 50 and they have get togethers all the time :)
The flyer is available in PDF format under the Extra! tab at the top of any page :)
Hi Sarah, We don't live near Snellville but I attended a Doodle Romp last April at Lenora Park. This is where I first met a doodle face to face and totally fell in love. If you hear of another Romp planned please let everyone here know as I'm sure there are many within driving distance who would love to attend. P.S. There were about 35 doodles at last April's romp so I'm sure a playmate is nearby! Good Luck!
Sarah, Did you make the April 2009 Doodle Romp in Marietta? We did not have our doodle at the time, but were researching the breed. There were over 40 doodles at the romp and we got to do a lot of research (a.k.a. lots of petting, ear scratching and talking to owners). Now we have a doodle of our own and I am looking for an excuse to have a 'mid-summers night' romp. We live in Roswell.
Okay. ..I'm not in Chattanooga. . .but I'm only about a 2 hours away and we are planning a doodle romp in this area for June. ..let me know if you'd like more information! Oh. . .I'm in Thompson's Station which is 30 miles south of nashville and the romp will be somewhere close by.
I met my first doodle owner who is also a DK member this last Sunday at the Roswell Petsmart. I also posted a DK flyer at our local dog park hoping to find some more doodle owners in my area. I am going to see if a local shop called 'That Dirty Dog' will allow me to post a DK flyer.
