If you read Leigh's post about being aware of vaccine reactions you will know that my little Max had a bad reaction and almost died. He is now blind and not very tolerant of being picked up or petted. This really stinks because he was headed for a home with a Down's Syndrome/Autistic child. I am having a really hard time finding dogs right now and for this little boy, losing Max would be really nasty. He has met him, played with him and was showing some very positive behavior towards him. You may say, well just get a different dog and he won't know the difference. For some, that may be true, but this little guy has something very close to a photographic memory and will know in a heartbeat. I have to find a chocolate fleece coated male with a white spot on his chest which is really going to be hard I am afraid. I did not have my little girl vaccinated because of the dangers I am finding out about and now I am even more determined not to do it since I have seen this happen to a puppy. Honestly, it makes no sense. I have never had this happen before and I had no hesitations taking him in for them. I am horrified of Parvo as about 16 years ago I had a neighbor's dog to poop in my yard and I lost a mother dog and a litter of puppies as a result even though they were not old enough for a shot. Mom was vaccinated but this strain jumped the vaccine and she reacted to the medicine they gave her to try and save her. I had to burn everything and start over. At the time I was 19 and had built everything myself. Maybe this is just one of the freak things that is going to happen occasionally, but it sure does hurt when it does.
"n my opinion, if vaccines are suppose to protect, then the companies that manufactor these shots MUST be held accountable to make them safe."
NOPE! Sadly there will not be. A little law was slipped in with some others after 911 stating that pharmas will NOT be held acountable for any vax damage.
As for your pup Contact Dr Feinman at Homeovet.com He has done wonders with our doodle.
So Sorry to hear about Max and the little boy but, Ann has a great suggestion it the two of them bonded already it may just help Max and the little boy. Miracles do happen and I would give it a try...imagine if he little boy could help Max...that just may help the little boy more than anyone could have thought possible...From doing thearpy work with dogs you would be amazed at what could happen...
Sad fact this is Not a rare occurrance and while some vets do not believe there is something called Vaccinosis it is there. If a dog already has had Noticeable side effects the next time with a high % can honestly kill them or cause long lasting effects. MAJORITY of effects from vaxs are Not noticed right away ( just like in children). Many dogs these days can't handle chicken because they make vaxs in chicken embroyos. So once they start ingesting chicken their body has a big immune response to it as though it is an invader. Chronic ear infections, stomach issues etc all highly related.
I have been through it with our elderly rescue poodle. He had very bad complications when he was a puppy ( vet surprisingly admitted it) he still to this day has so many issues. He had his vaccine and started going limp, vet was kept over night, the next day brought home to only have several more seizures along with a mass that started in his neck near his ear, owner then was dealing with the draining from this large open wound and he then he started having a slew of other complications. He has been treated holistically since we have had him and has papers stating another vaxs could kill him. However if you read on the actual paper that comes with the vaccines that also contains the lot # it will state something of the sorts :NOT TO BE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH Immune compromised systems, sick, pregnant
"In a general and frightening context, I see the overall health and longevity of animals deteriorating. The bodies of most animals have a tremendous capacity to detoxify poisons, but they do have a limit. I think we often exceed that limit and overwhelm the body's immune system function with toxins from vaccines. The most common problems I see that are directly related to vaccines on a day to day basis are ear or skin conditions, such as chronic discharges and itching. I also see behavior problems such as fearfulness or aggression. Often guardians will report that these begin shortly after vaccination and are exacerbated with every vaccine." Dr Pat Bradley DVM
Thanks for that. I have a yellow lab that had a bad reaction as a puppy. I never had her vaccinated for anything again. She is now 16 years old!! For a yellow lab, that is ancient!!
I agree. I am glad you told me about the SC thing as I have never heard of that before. I have spoken exclusively with my vet and we have developed a plan quite similar to yours for the next round. We are also going to wait a little longer in the interval to vaccinate next time too. Anyway, Max is starting to play and bounce again today. He has chosen a favorite dark corner to sleep in and he seems to be doing better even now. I wish I could talk to him and ask him if he is feeling and seeing better. Give Luke a squeeze for me!!
Because this is a total public board i try not to share to much however i will say many times a vet will write a letter stating that a dog cant be vaccinated because of past health issues or vax reaction
