So, since it sounds like the first romp was a hit, do we want to make this a regular event & if so, how about doing them on a monthly basis? Say the 1st weekend of every month? Or do we want to do them more frequently? Also, does anyone know when the ground is dry enough so that we can move these outdoors because the sunshine today was beautiful! We just moved to Portland last summer so I'm not sure when things start drying out here but I'm assuming it's not that different from Seattle. If we want to move to outdoors, I'm thinking that Mt Tabor would be a good option because it's completely fenced, there's a central area for wrestling & lot of trees/a path for running for those so inclined & a water fountain to re-fuel from.

Once a month sounds awesome. I think it would help Joey make some 4 legged friends instead of just 2 legged ones. Even twice a month would be really neat. It seems like the weather here never dries up. Ever. So, it's hit or miss until summer probably!

I love the idea of monthly romps - Rozee and Bella just gave a "Paws-Up" so they're ready! March and April at Alpha sounds great to us, so as soon as we get the dates/times we'll get it on our Doodle Social Calendar (Okay! so we start making one!). My only concern with Mt Tabor and/or other "dog parks" is if it can't be reserved then it's open to the public. We've had a couple of bad experiences at public dog parks. It was so great seeing 20-25 doodles in one area and not even one nasty growl or even the beginning of agression. Just my thoughts coming from experience.
Kelli, want to sign us up for March 14th? Hopefully maybe by April we could start to move outdoors? If people have dogs that don't run off/need completely fenced in areas, we could hold an outside romp at the elementary school in Ladd's Addition near where I live, Abernathy school. The school lets us use the park after hours & on the weekends as long as people pick up after their dogs. The other dogs that come to the park are regulars so are pretty well socialized (some humping but no really aggressive dogs, lol). Or if we want to hedge our bets for April we could sign up for the 11th as well & if the weather's gorgeous do an outside romp later in the month.
What do you guys think?

Thank you so much. That will be great fun and Rozee and Bella have it on their calendar.
That was SO fun!! Finn had a GREAT time! I would love to do it on a monthly basis. I really liked Alpha Dog and would be happy to go there again. I feel like I should have paid them a lot more for all the fun we had! Sine, I totally fell in love with Joey!!! He's adorable!

Chari, I'm sure that Joey fell in love with you right back! Was Finn the black doodle with the sweet soulful eyes that I wanted to take home with me?

Another option for outdoor romps is Happy Valley Park in the Clackamas area. There are two fenced off areas that are available. The most dogs I ever see there is about five (and that's on a good day). Usually, there is always one fenced off area that is empty so space is plenty there I would think.
