Here is a GRRREAT toy to keep puppy occupied...supervise at first to be sure SHE can't destroy it ... but it has lasted over 2 years here! And going. it's called The Everlasting Fun Ball (by Triple Crown/StarMark):

In these photos above you'll see it next to kibble and a larger treat. Both can be sqeezed inside but the bigger treat is harder to get out. The size above is "medium" -- Rosco chews it like a giant wad of gum. We also have the Large.

We have one of these, too. It's the same brand, but it looks a little different. We use the big treat instead of kibble. Halas can eventually get it out, but it takes quite awhile. The first time I gave it to him, he chewed on that thing for 4 hours! It was perfect, because I really needed a break from puppy at that time. I would recommend keeping a close eye on your dog if he does get the big treat out, just to make sure he doesn't swallow it without chewing it up. Halas swallowed a pretty big chunk of it once and threw it up a little while later, and he never has that problem if he chews it up, so maybe it just doesn't digest that well if it's in big pieces. But he loves it. It always keeps him busy for a long time.
do you have the everlasting treat ball (instead of the everlasting fun ball?) the one that comes with that huge treat? it's made by the same company but it's completely different... this one doesn't come with treats--it is empty and you have to stuff it yourself. It's also squishy.
I just looked it up. We used to have the everlasting treat ball, but Halas was able to tear that one up. Now we have the everlasting BEANIE ball. It's hard to tell from the picture, because the picture is really showing the bottom of the toy. I think you can put kibble in the bottom, and it can roll around in the bottom half of the toy. But if you flip it over to the top, one of the big treats wedges in there. It uses the same big treats as the everlasting treat ball did, but the beanie ball is a little more "everlasting" for us.

Here are a couple of other pics. The big treat is about 2 inches wide.

We also have this great toy! Oliver, our younger doodle, has not destroyed it yet! He also likes to fetch this green ball. I like the idea that it can be rinsed off with water. Tennis balls get so dirty and icky! I wanted to find some toy that was soft but yet durable. I was a bit skeptical as I looked at it in the hardware store. A tennis sized squishy ball for nine or ten dollars. Was I nuts? I had spent a lot of money on toys that Oliver destroyed in no time flat. I am so glad that I decided to take a chance on this ball! It is a keeper!!!!!!!!!
We also have this one. We have the large one that takes the disc shaped treats.
It lasts a long time...but Murphy has gotten really good at taking the treats out now.
I recommend it highly. Its one of the few things that he likes that he hasn't been able to destroy.
That's not the same thing....what you have is the Everlasting TREAT ball. This is the Everlasting FUN ball...does not come with a special giant treat...you put in whatever you want =) made by the same company but diff item.
I just added 2 photos to the slide show above to show the difference between the TREAT ball and the FUN ball.
We started with the TREAT ball, but Halas was able to tear it up. In the picture of it on it's side, you can see there's kind of an indentation? Well, after a couple of uses, he was able to figure out that he could get a pretty good grip on that, and he just chewed through it. So he basically chewed that whole top ring almost all the way off. He didn't eat it or anything, but it would no longer hold a treat in that end. So we switched to the BEANIE ball after that, and he can't get the same grip on it, so he just licks and chews at the treat. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the FUN ball. Halas has several toys that can hold treats (we usually just use some kibble), and he likes them all, so I'm sure he'd like the FUN ball, too.
just bought the everlasting fun ball today. will see if its worth the $10 I paid for it plus $5 for the treats that go inside of it. so far so good but i do notice it picks up the dust bunnies and holds onto them. (I have a brittany that sheds something fierce). The 2 dogs so far have been chasing eachother around the house trying to grab it from eachother and it's kin of fun to watch ;)
Update on everlasting funball: my Brittany so far has no interest in trying to learn how to get treat out. Lucky on the other hand, can't wait for her to be distracted so he can sneak in and steal the ball from her and in no time he has that treat out of there and then he looks at me to put another treat in the ball :) I guess that means the doodle can go above the Brittany on the intelligience scale. THe Brittany is actually pretty high up on that scale according to someone's earlier post.
I just placed an order for the everlasting fun toy, I hope it works I gave him a new ball the other day he started to chew it, within 20 seconds what a chewer and I have noticed more now that he starting to want to chew again he is 8 l/2 months old.
