I was surfing on doodles and found this ad -
read the last 2 lines - tail docked and dw claws removed!! I emailed this person re: tail docked and I awaiting an answer. Doubt I will get one. this 'breeder' is from Wayne,NJ. How would they know the color, coat and allergy friendly? They know something I don't??

I DID get a response! In the email I was told 'common with this hybrid, but can go either way...i prefer it be docked, they don't have bushy tails...so long slender tails don't look very pleasing".
I wrote back begging for theirs not to be docked and to join us here in DK and get an education about Doodles. I am praying she takes my advice and joins us before anything is done to their tails.

Niiiiiice. They should be able to know color possibilities if these two dogs have been bred before or know their pedigree. I don't think they realize doodles shouldn't be DOCKED.

But I love the claim to "low maintenance" AND "non shed" hair ... as well as their virtually guaranteed perfect temperaments. Low maintenance is a GR.... non-shed is the poodle...but mix 'em up and promises like that can NOT be made.

Selling them before Valentine's day also means they are being sold prior to 8 weeks...not usually a good idea.

I see ads like this all the time and cringe. Especially when they are all in CAPITAL LETTERS. I like to imagine they are standing one foot away from me and SHOUTING BECAUSE I OBVIOUSLY CAN'T HEAR! =)

Yeah, low maintenance and non-shedding don't seem to go together. Halas is non-shedding, and he's pretty high maintenance. I used to have a husky who shed like crazy, but you just had to use a special comb on him once in awhile, and that was about it.

Oh, I forgot to add - the ad was on a free classified site. Tells you even more about these 'homeraised' pups. Make me cringe!!!

Allie is the most high maintenance dog I have ever known. But I love her anyway!

TAILS DOCKED???? Allie's tail is my Husbands favorite feature!!! That's so sad.

That's always strong evidence that someone has NOT explored the world of doodles very well...they'd know TAILS are highly valued and part of their beauty.

Exactly where would the dam be registered as a hybrid? This sounds like a scam to me. Greed makes the world go...somewhere.
