How old was your puppy when they started shedding their fuzzy baby coat and how long did it last? At first she wasn't shedding at all, but it started around 13 weeks.

Fozzy Bear is 16 weeks and is not yet started to shed. And hopefully he won't.
FYI - Fergie started shedding @ about 10 months so you're not over the wait yet.
Barney didn't shed a hair until he hit 9 months. He's almost 11 months now and still shedding. I find enough clumps around the house to make a second doodle. I'm just brushing him as much as I can to help it come out.
That is a great question. Angel is 16 weeks and I notice hair on the brush after I brush her, but that is it. Sometimes I will find hair on my clothes if I have not brushed her recently. But it is not falling out in clumps like some people say if they shed their puppy coat. I would also like to hear this from some of you who have gone through it. I know my neighbors mini F1 doodle did not shed the puppy coat at all. The hair just became a different texture, curly and long.
I notice quite a bit of hair in Macy's brush. Then, if I wear the right coat I see quite a few hairs on my coat. I'm hoping this will pass.
Taffy seems to have the same thing going on. She is 6months old. Our groomer said that they should loose their puppy coat somewhere in the range of 10 months. So we will see if the little bit of shedding we have clears up once she looses the puppy coat. Lucky for us Taffy will be 10 months old in the summer, I have heard a lot of doodles end up getting shaved when they loose their puppy coat due to matting. We will try our best to keep her brushed.
Fergie lost hers and just remember to brush her. She's to cute to shave. I never had to shave Fergie and I told the groomer I'd kill her if she shaved her. Brush, brush, brush - it's a good bonding thing anyway.
I think you may be confusing shedding with natural hair loss. Just like people.
Abby is just about 6 months old and she hasn't shed a thing - there is hair in her brush when i brush her - but not much really. I keep waiting for this "losing the puppy coat" to start too...
fergie didn't start until she was 10-11 months old and since then she does shed pretty much. She's now 13 months. Oh well, she doesn't matt at all and she's just adorable. Will just have to live with it. No guarantees were ever made to me.
She is an F1.
Kodi is almost 1 year. His coat started shedding at 10 months. I brushed and combed and was able to avoid matting however his beautiful long fur became very frizzy and damaged. I just had him clipped to about 2 inches and he actually looks much better (kept his head and face and tail long) and it is easier to reach the roots, the source of a potential matting disaster.
Angel is 4 mo. old and she is starting to shed a lot. She is a very light blonde golden doodle puppy, but so much hair has shed off the top that she has a dark skunk stripe down her back. The hair close to her skin is more apricot and you can really see it now. I have heard some doodles shed their puppy coat. Spring is also normal shedding season too I think.
