I made a search before posting so please forgive me if the answer is out there.

At what age can a dog go through the night without a potty break? Max is 15 weeks old and has his last drink @ 8pm and his last walk @ 10 pm. He sleeps without a problem in his crate and barely wants to go the one time we take him out during the night - although he usually will go since he has the opportunity.

I just don't want to cause him bladder problems. Then again, I guess he would just go in the crate if he needed to that badly.

Thanks,
~Danielle

So you take him out because you are worried it's bad for him to hold it and NOT because he's asking...am I understanding correctly? If so, I would say you could eliminate that middle of the night potty break. He should be able to hold it and if not you'll probably hear him whine or bark.
I agree with Adina; although Jack was an adult when I got him, my last dog went through the night without a problem from the day I got her @ 10 weeks old, and she was a miniature poodle with a small bladder. Your puppy will be fine if you eliminate that middle of the night trip outdoors, and you'll be better rested to deal with a puppy! He will tell you if he needs to go.
Yes, I take him out once because I assume he can't hold it the entire night. He doesn't "ask" to go.

Thank you for the information. I will try tonight a full run with no potty breaks.

Thank you for the information and the advice. I'm pleased to say Max held out through the night (8.5 hrs) just fine. He is even beginning to use the poochie bells as a signal when he needs potty. Woohoooo! :D

WoooHooo, twice! Did you get a good night's sleep?
Does a bear poop in the woods?

LOL - yes I did. Thank you for asking.
