So are supposed to me be "loading the Clicker" at this point? Last night Jordan did not even turn her head when I clicked, and I clicked a lot. I was not sure if they were going to do another method or not. I do not have lesson 2 yet so Im not sure.
Jordan's Food Love:
1 Cheese any kind will do cut up
2 Lunch meat or hot dog cut up
3 Popcorn,or some sort of cereal I still have her treat bag (found with the clicker) Im just going to mix them all up.
If I have ball around she loves that, but she would want to play so Im going to stick with food for right now.
I also have another dog in the house I plan to keep Payton in the office when I am working with Jordan and vice versa. Might as well brush Payton skills up too.
We are not loading the clicker on day 1.
Day 2 should arrive a full day after day 1--so possibly if you signed up in the evening it may be evening again when you get day 2.
I just got day 2 in my email.( it was sent at 8:45pm)I am going to start "loading" the clicker tonight but our walk is already done for the night so I will be a day behind. No biggie for this week but when the real training starts I will sign up early in the AM.
No problem...I think everyone will get their day 2 in the evening as most people didn't sign up right away as we didn't announce it till the afternoon.
By the way, the MAIN program that we start next week won't come in daily installments. You will get it all at once (even though we will go through it chapter, by chapter).
Hello!! I took Molly on Sunday to her 1st class at Petco, I'm not so sure how that is going to work out yet too early to tell. The trainer said she seemed very smart. I'm looking forward to doing this spring training class on here also. I went to Walmart tonight and purchased some canine carry out treats ($1.24 a bag) and came home and cut them up into small pieces. The trainer explained at Petco that it's better to train with soft treats because they can eat them quicker and don't have to worry about them biting them into small pieces and then look around for the crunchy crumbs on the floor to eat in the meantime the dog forgets why he got the treat to begin with. I don't know how true this is but Molly seems to like the soft treats so we are going to stick with that for now.
There are now 99% FAT-FREE hotdogs out there (Oscar Meyer 99% fat-free turkey dogs or Ball Park 100% fat-free beef). One hotdog can be cut up into >60 tiny treats. I've found it's not the SIZE of the treat, but that darn good SMELL. and I found BOTH at Walmart.
