Honey started with the Runs last night and so far all day, she did not eat anything this morning and has taken a little water today, and has eaten nothing tonight. She is active and playfull, barking as always, and did NOT get into anything she was not suppose to. Now her poop's are mucus and bloody from not eating. Vets on a Holiday are astrominical let alone on the weekend. Do you think Pepto will help her. Made her boiled Hamburger and rice, and also Chicken and Rice and she turned her nose up to it....

I will thinking about Honey all night, and hoping that this is just a minor upset. I'm so glad you talked to the vet, I'm sure you feel better, too. Have a happy Easter, and don't forget to update us tomorrow. Hugs to you & Honey!
Awww Denise, sorry to hear about Honey. I have no advice for you b/c I have never, thank God, had to deal with this. Keep us updated, Lucy & I send {{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}} Try to have a nice Easter !!
I hope Honey gets better soon!
Sounds like you have this under control with all the advice you have gotten. I hope that the pepto helped.
Sounds like her vacation meals didn't agree with her - I hope that that it is all it is!

I am told that the mucous in a poop is a sign that the stomach/intestines are irratated and are trying to heal itself. Samantha usualy has mucous after she has chewed on a stick. The animal nutritionist we use suggests a product from "Rx - Clay" to help firm up the poops. It is a powder, vegan and I give it to her 2x's a day, in the am with plain yogurt and sprinkle on her dinner. It is an amazing difference.

Hope Honey feels better!!! Happy Easter!
Adrianne, this product is "vegan" because it doesn't come from food at all. It is a mineral product used for dogs with chronic diarrhea from chemotherapy. From the manufacturer's own website:
RxClay™ (Hydrated Calcium Aluminosilicate) is a geological nanomaterial
"Geological nanomaterial" basically means rocks.
Since the product is only sold through "professionals", I would be leery of it. The one selling it gets a kickback, and that makes the recommendation suspect, as it is in the best interests of the person selling it to get you to buy it. It is still being evaluated by true veterinary experts, i.e. canine oncologists. So far, the only known side effect is constipation, but it is not necessary for regular use in otherwise healthy dogs. A little canned pumpkin would be a better choice, IMO.

thanks - I will speak with the vet tomorrow to make sure it is safe. It it is I will be thrilled cause I gotta say that her poops are 1000% better with the Clay. She had loose stools and lots of mucous daily - since the clay, firm and no mucous. I cannot relate to anything else but the clay. The clay is much easier for me to give her especially when we travel. But, better be safe than sorry.

From what I read, there is no data to say that it is not safe for her. This is from the site you suggested I read. I am going to foward the site and more info to my vet. I will let you know what he says.
'CAS has been studied in dogs as a means of treating intractable diarrhea in animals undergoing chemotherapy. In a study performed by Hahn and Carpenter at Gulf Coast Oncology, CAS was used to treat a group of dogs whose diarrhea had not responded to conventional antibiotic and dietary manipulation. In the first group, 65 percent had a complete resolution of symptoms within 48 to 72 hours. In a different group of dogs, the diarrhea was controlled in 80 percent of the dogs in less than three days.'

I really appreciate your concern for all our doodles!! You are one fantastic person!
Hey Denise, thanks for the Easter wishes... I hope that Honey is feeling better. Very stressful Easter for you!
