We are empty nesters. I am Sherry to grown ups and Nonnie to grandkids who number 3 with one in the oven. Mother of five, married 25 years (second time was the charm). We live in a suburb of Kansas City, MIssouri. I took forced retirement in November and trying to decide whether to stay retired. Got my labradoodle buddy in January after saying (I am never going to have another dog). Hubby reminded me that I told him after raising three goldens, two corgies and five kids, that I wanted to raise a puppy when I was home all the time and "Finally get it right". I hope we are doing that. Buddy is the most sweet tempered dog we have ever owned and I am having a blast training him. My kids who are all adults, are giving me loads of grief about my attachment to the dog, but I am having fun! Husband travels all the time so it is nice to have a "buddy" around!
I think the kids are jealous!!!!!
I am 54 and Phil just turned 63. We have 2 daughters (26 & 19). Our oldest daughter has been living abroad since 2003 and working on her PhD. Our younger daughter still lives at home, but between school (Savannah College of Art & Design) and working at our vet, we don't see her except when she is dashing through house =). Harlow is our first doodle and she joined our family a little over 2 weeks ago. We live in the Atlanta 'burbs' and Harlow is from Michigan. She is adjusting to the temps of the sunny south.
Welcome Nina and Phil! How wonderful to have you both and Harlow in our group.
Isn't our 'new life' with our puppies just fantastic!?!?

Beautiful dogs!
My husband and I are "semi-retired"...he works in the ski industry and I in a small local Land Surveying firm. We've been "together" for the past 11 years and married 2 years this April. These are the best days of our lives and we appreciate how good life has been to us as a couple - now a threesome! We love to ski in the winter and enjoy motorcycling and boating in the summer months. Feels like life has just begun!
This is DeeDee and Sheila. Sheila,'s Bday is Nov. 19, 2009. I forgot to put that in our last post.
I'm 49 and my husband is 50. This is the 2nd time around for both of us. We were married in 2007. I have 3 grown children (one of each lol) and he has a daughter. I work for the government and my husband works from home which is great for Matilda.
I am 66.5, married to John, 65 for almost 30 yrs. We have 4 children, 4 grandchildren. Retired last July - me from medical sales w 3M and John from University of Houston. We moved permanently to our retirement home in Hunt, Tx - from the big city to the country. We always had dogs until the last 10 years when job travel and living circumstances did not allow us to have a dog.

On March 31 of this year we picked up our beautiful Max, an miniature Australian Labradoodle. He is a joy and has changed our lives dramatically - no more sleeping in, and since it takes over 2 hrs to go to town grocery shop - a lot of planning on when to go anywhere!!

He is a super puppy - hard not to let our lives revolve around him. We are currently attending Puppy Kindergarten - since we live in the country, there is only one other puppy in the class and it is a Doberman. I am not sure how long I can endure that BIG puppy making my puppy run for cover when they are in the puppy playpen. The trainer said our puppy thinks he is a human - can you imagine??
