I just got back from the vet with Gus and he's got it. He started with a cough on Saturday night. Got worse yesterday. He sounds like a flock of geese honking. Not sure where he got it, but we think he might have picked it up at the NoVa romp we went to last weekend. Luckily he was already going in for his annual physcial and shots today. Our vet put him on some antibiotics and a cough suppressant. Has anyone dealt with this. Is it inevidable that Lilly will be infected? Any information would be great. This is the first time for us. Thanks

There's definitely risk to Lilly...but not sure how much. What did the vet say about Gus possibly spreading it to Lilly?
They have a vaccination for that. Make sure he gets it regularly when he is better. Any dog around other dogs is at risk and should be vaccinated. I would talk to your vet about vaccinating Lilly now if she hasn't been, if she has there should be no worries.

Hope he feels better fast:)
Thanks everyone. Gus and Lilly both had been vaccinated. Lilly just a couple months ago. I guess it was just bad timimg because that was one of the shots Gus was due again today. Our vet has given me some antibiotics and the cough tablets. The cough tablets seem to be working already. He hasn't had bad coughing episode for a few hours now after giving him one.
That is bad timing.....yikes:(
