Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have a six month old female doodle for which I desperately need to find a home. She's a carmel medium curly coat, approximately 45 lbs and beautiful. I over-estimated my time and ability to care for this beautiful dog. Am located in Northeast Ohio.

My friend just lost her doodle and ask me to keep a look out for just such a post. Her beloved doodle of I believe 15 years died on Easter Sunday and she said she would be ready for another in a few weeks. I can contact her but in the mean time you can contact me if you wish. MY email is the hetzels@netzero.net. Thankyou. ~ Brenda
Brenda,

I am receiving failure notices on your email address. Mine is rhoffman613@yahoo.com. Please contact me.

Thank you,

Roberta
Hi Roberta,

I'm sorry about having to give up your sweet doodle. I would be heartbroken at best so I'm sure it was not an easy decision.

The first thing to think about is to contact your breeder. A responsible breeder usually requires this in their contract when you bought the pup and always will help you find a home for take back the pup and do the home-finding for you. So please contact the breeder first...it's the honest thing to do.

If you've already attempted that route and found the breeder was not willing to help in this, then your next best step is to contact IDOG (International Doodle Owners Group) and their Rescue/Rehome program. They are a network of foster homes all over the USA and they would be able to take in your dog and foster her until they found her a home. IDOG has waiting lists for doodles all over the USA and would be your best help in this. However, they can not pay you for your doodle...you will have to release her to them free of charge. Their email is rescue@IDOG.biz

If you are selling your doodle for a fee, you will need to move this post to the Labradoodle Puppies for Sale group on here. If you are giving her away for FREE...I encourage you to NOT do that and instead go through IDOG or even a local rescue group in your area. FREE dogs may not attract the right kind of people, but rescue groups do a GREAT job of screening applicants and helping your pup find the right home.

Good luck in finding a wonderful home for your sweet doodle.
Adina,

Thank you for the information. Yes, I am heartbroken and it took awhile to come to this decision, but I believe it is the best choice for Bailey.

Kind Regards,

Roberta
Adina,

I meant to mention that I did first contact the breeder and they are unable to help me. I also contacted my vet and my groomer, all with no luck.

Kind Regards,

Roberta
I am so sorry you had to make such a difficult decision. I have to applaud you on being a loving and responsible owner.
Thank you for your support.
Hi Roberta,

I just wanted to take a moment to say you're doing the right thing. My husband and I started out with a Labradoodle a few years ago who was a honey but just needed way more time and energy that we could give him (he was truly an action dog!). It was one of the hardest things to admit that it wasn't working but when we decided to find him a good home we knew we'd done the right thing. We matched him up with a super family (lots of kids, always on the go) and everyone had a happy ending.

Keep us posted on your hunt to find the right home... and hang in there.

Best,
Michele
Thank you for your support. I am really praying that Brenda's friend is interested!
Bless you, Roberta, for offering you pup here and not taking her to a shelter. I am SURE she will get a home soon, she is a beauty. I can understand how tough of a decison this had to be for you. She looks like a fun loving sweetie!!
Thank you, I really do appreciate your support!
Hi. Is your baby a goldendoodle or a labradoodle? I am a goldendoodle breeder in the Nashville area. I am working with a client in Kentucky who is wanting an older pup/young goldendoodle dog. I have approved her for a puppy from us if we cannot find her an older doodle. If your baby is a goldendoodle, I would love to hear more about her. Thank you.
