Since Fenway was little she always liked to be picked up and held. Lee and I would of course accommodate her and when we did she would sit in our arms like a human baby. She still does this to this day and Lee and I really have not thought anything about it. Well when we were at Lee's Dad's for the holidays he saw us pick Fenway up and hold her and he couldn't believe how she just sat in our arms like a baby. He said he had never seen any other dog do this. Sometimes she even puts her arms around your neck. Does anyone elses doodle like to be held like a baby?

Yes! Halas and I do this every morning. When he knows I'm ready to leave for work, he goes floppy. He rolls onto his back and just lays there. I pick him up, hold him like a big baby, carry him down the stairs, and lay him on the couch. It started when he was very little, and he would go completely limp and just let his legs and head hang down. Now that he's bigger (24 lbs), I support his head and back, but it still starts the same way.

That's soooooo...cute, I was hoping for a cuddly doodle and tried all kind of tricks when he was real small for him to be that way. But, he was never like this he only wanted to be close when he was not feeling well or scared. So what do they always say (What will be,will be).
As you can tell by this discussion, Fenway LOVES to be held and cuddled and is game for a cuddling session any time any place. Dustin on the other hand is very independent and would rather be flat out on the floor by himself or walking than being held and carried. He's just not the same pup as Fenway. This gives me hope though that maybe he'll get "cuddlier" as he gets older. I'm hoping!
Yes!!! Pongo likes to be held like a baby too! And he also puts his 'arms' around my neck like he's giving me a cuddle!! So cute!!
I love holding Brooksy like my lil' baby and he enjoys it - he'll just lay his head down and I'll bounce him like a baby! I loooove it! He's a pretty big baby though...just under 30 lbs! Good for the muscles!
Duff has always liked that as well and puts his paws on either side of my neck, but he is about 40 lbs now, so those days are numbered, as he is only 6 months. Nothing is better than a soft, muppety doodle in your arms.
My DH started this with Zeke when he first came to us at age 12 weeks. Well now he is 50lbs and still will take a flying leap into the chair where DH is sitting to be held like a baby. Lily copies everything Zeke does and she is at 50lbs also, so it's not unusual for DH to have 100lbs of dogs in his lap to rock like babies! lol.....
Awwww...that's so sweet!
