Just to get to know each other a bit better. I'd like to ask everyone... what do you do for a living NOW and what would you do if money weren't an issue?
I'm a dietitian (work for a hospital with occasional private clients) currently. Have been one for 5 years...my first and only career.
However, if money weren't an issue and I could switch careers with a snap of the fingers, here are some things I'd like to do:
1) Dog training
2) Dog photography
3) Doodle breeder (maybe someday...but too time consuming and pricey to start before I have kids or maybe even after!)
4) Stay at home tv watcher/book reader
5) Professional traveler with Clark and our doodles =)
What about you? What do you do now and what WOULD you do if you could do anything?
Right now I'm not working I had to stop 20 years ago when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. If money wasn't an issue we would be traveling to Nashville more than once a year. We love it there ! As you can see by my pix that my Doodle does too she is a real Country Girl. I would love to be a professional LOTTERY WINNER, that's a job I could handle and really enjoy ! I would love to pay off my kids houses, help people and open up a big and safe dog park in my area. We desperately need one and have none.
I'm a librarian. I came to this profession late in life, after finally figuring out this is what I wanted to do when I grew up. ; )
I seriously think that if money weren't an issue, I'd still do this. Maybe not full-time, but still in libraries. And read, and read, and read.
1) I'd love to breed doodles.....though the worry would be that I couldn't bear to part with any of them and we'd end up with a pack of doodles! (There are worse fates.)
2) I'd like to do more pottery, and perhaps will get a wheel of my own.

I am an administrative assistant at the University for about 8 years. My husband also works for the University. We constantly talk about what we would do if we won the Loto (he actually does play :D)
He and I would love to travel, probably starting around the US, with our pups of course! Then we would love to travel the world too, grandma and grandpa make great dood sitters.
I would love to have a nice size ranch style home on some acreage so that I could have more animals, and also help out with less fortunate animals. I love to watch animal cops and would love to be that place they could place a horse, goat, cow, or anything that needed lot's of love and fattening up :)
Well, I'm currently the financial coordinator for a pediatric dental office. I just started here a year ago after going back to school for two years and getting my Associate's Degree. Prior to that, I worked in trailer manufacturing (heavy assembly--ugh!!!) for eleven years. With that said, I'm VERY happy with my current job and plan to retire from it! The docs and my coworkers are awesome, and everyone truly cares about each other. I appreciate it all the more because after working in manual labor for so long where the company and the people only looked at the bottom dollar, it's nice to feel like I matter.
If I could do anything else, It would be to have my grandson all the time while his mom works/goes to school/goes out. He is the light of my life!
Of course, we love to travel, so it would be great to take our grandson and our doods and get a rental home for a week or two a few times a year in Cape Coral, Cape Cod, Gatlinburg, etc...
I've been a firefighter for almost 30 years. Twenty years as a USAF firefighter and the last 9 at National Airport here in DC.
As for if money wasn't an issue. If we were to hit the lottery we would buy a big house in the country and become a full time doodle rescue.
No way! How neat is that! We have a lot in common...doodles and nutrition =) A year ago I tried to research animal nutrition programs in hopes that with an extra degree I could contribute something to the canine nutrition world, but came up empty handed. There isn't a lot out there...at least not in my state. I even left a voicemail for an RD who works for Purina or similar company but never heard back. I've thought about the doggy daycare thing a bit too.
Hmm... what would I do if money wasn't an issue?? I would TRAVEL!! I do love my job as a chemist, but the monotomy of the work week is exhausting at times. I would probably try to work part-time- the satisfaction one receives from a successful career is priceless. I would also volunteer at an animal shelter. One more thing- I'd buy a bigger house and more land so I could have more animals!
