I've read over several of the long Les Pooch brush discussions, but I'm totally baffled by which ones everyone has said that they bought. My GD hasn't come home with me yet, but I was curious as to which brush colors you guys found to be most helpful. Like are you guys talking about the lime colored one? Or the dark green one? And which red one? The fire engine red or the maroon?

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't wait a year either. Halas didn't really start matting until he was 9 months old, so not quite as early as Ned, but I wish I would have ordered the Les Poochs brush then.
Thanks for the information. i emailed Kemp for suggestions.

I'm getting the green one for Max. Yay!
Update: I received my brush (green) and love it. Thank you Kemp for the suggestion and great service.
Oh, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions and tell me your experiences. I guess what I'll do is just use a regular brush and slicker until the day comes that I think they're not working anymore. ....If it ever comes to that. Our doodles are just so unique with the way their coats change that it is kind of intimidating to a "new parent."
My Mija doodle has a beautiful thick and luscious fleecy wave/curl coat....the regular slicker brush was just okay but not great...the Maroon (purple) LP brush (full/double size) is a dream--worth every penny and still is the first and last brush I reach for...if I had more money to blow on this--I'd probably invest in the lime green matt buster too...or perhaps the smaller size head for her legs and face...hmm, can you tell I'm a shopper!! LOL! (and no, I'm not a rep, either! LOL!)

good luck and may matts never find their way into your dood's coat!
It will depend on the coat type of your dog and size of your dog.

As a puppy you likely wont ever need to use this type of bursh and a normal paddle style with pins will be fine.

If you are getting a mini, a single should be ok, for larger dogs get a double.

The purple is great for thick and extra curly coats. I dont really feel there is a difference in the proffesional purple and the red matzappter. In fact I dont feel that the matzapper is deserving of its title as a matzapper.

If your puppy has a short flat coat the sheds and doesnt grow long these brushes will be of no use to you. I would wait until your dog is older to see which one you need.
I got a terrific deal on one from e-bay for $46 (I will still hesitant about the price, but it is wonderful!). Jennings is a Mini Goldendoodle, and I bought the "fire engine red" handled one.

Good luck! :)
