Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi! I am hoping to get a goldendoodle or a labradoodle within the next year. I've been looking forever trying to find the right dog to fit our family. Now, I'm just trying to narrow a breeder down. :) I'm leaning towards goldendoodles (definitely a standard size puppy - I love big dogs!). Can't really say why, so if anyone has any opinions on that matter I'd love to hear it (but that should be another post!). I've looked in the owner recommended breeder section and couldn't find my answers. My two questions are:

1. Do you know of any breeders that work closely with therapy dogs and service dogs - breeders that are very familiar with the temperament tests?

2. Does anyone know about Teddybear Goldendoodles? I can't seem to find any information on here about them but she seems like a fairly large breeder.

Thanks for all your help in advance!

Hey Jeanette - Do you have your breeder info? I didn't see it on your page. Thanks!
Folks, since Adina has suffered the loss of her dad in the past 36 hours, and has more important things to worry about, I am going to take it upon myself to remind everyone that we cannot specifically make breeder recommendations or give "plugs" for specific breeders here in the open forum. There are the "Owner Recommended Breeders" groups, and anyone can sent a message or leave a comment on someone else's page. But listing specific websites and promoting specific breeders is, I believe, against the guidelines. That's why the group was set up.
Thanks, and if I am overstepping, forgive me!
No but you can, lol. There should be a small "x" in the upper right hand corner of your posts, that will delete any post you have ever made if you click it. Thanks for being understanding!
Jeanette...I am pretty sure Moss Creek has a recommendation in the Owner Recommended Breeder group here on DK...might send this member a direct link to that recommendation. If not you can start one!
It's not technically part of the rules, but I do prefer for breeder recommendations to go in the appropriate group or via page comments and private messages.

But I do appreciate you stepping in Karen =)
My breeder did not have therapy dog parents but did do temperament testing and that is how I chose Rosco the huge red doodle even though I wanted a dainty cream female. He was a mellow pup then and a mellow dog now. It worked out great. So even if a breeder doesn't HAVE therapy dogs...if their dogs have a good temperament and the breeder is well educated on puppy matching you can still get a great dog for therapy. That was what I wanted and got.

I would also check these two sites to look for breeders:

goldendoodles.com
Premium Breeder List

Being on either list above is not a guarantee...you still have to research each breeder individually, but it's a place to start.
You may also post in the Goldendoodle puppies for Sale and ask for a breeder to contact you if they have the type of GD you want--there are over 100 breeders who are members here but many of them don't peak in too often.
Thanks for all the info. Sorry to create any problems. :) I'm a part of the owner recommended breeder group but I thought that was only a place to post very specific recommendations, otherwise I would have posted there.

I'm off to check the other sites for breeders. Thanks!
No problems at all =)
Here are our guidelines: http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/Community_Guidelines

I think the owner recommended breeder group IS for posting recs...Kendra of Noble Vestal Doodles runs that group...might click on her profile and ask her about what is okay for her group.
Stick to those and you're fine! And you broke none of them so no worries =)
You might want to check out Gabby Jack Ranch Service Companions, I have read several articles in the forum here on DK about them, you can also back track on the forum's and find them.
