We just got back from our first camping trip of the season and Abby's first ever. She was really good! She is very easy going and slept in the trailer without being a nuisance to anybody - no potty mishaps - though she had #1 and #2 when we got back on the family room floor (sigh). She is really good in the vehicle too. Thur and Fri were dry, but pouring today so we cut it short.

Doodles are rare in these parts so she is always a celebrity wherever she goes, We got many "what kind of dog is that - so cute!" Or "is that one of those goldendoodles!" "what a great color" etc etc etc.
My husband says "the pretty people always get all the breaks" ...LOL! (he used to say that about me but now he applies it to Abby -hehe!

It sure is fun to take them isn't it? A bit more work and worry but worth it.

I walked her around the campground every couple of hours. She didnt seem to be worried about it though. When she was in the trailer she just laid on her blanket quite contently and slept or chewed her chewy. Outside we tied her up with an old extendaleash while we were out there. She just laid around or followed us as far as the leash could reach.She probably would have been fine off leash - but against the rules. Actually her best behavior was camping ( compared to home) - lol. Walks she loves. I wouldnt worry too much about exerting your pup as long as you take water for her and keep a reasonable pace - she can traverse trails better than any human. How exciting for you to be picking her/him out today! Have fun.

We love to take them camping! Shelby started camping with us in April. It is fun. This is our first season with two along in the trailer. We've gone twice so far with both (Shelby is 8 months old now) and go again this weekend. In July, we'll take them camping at the beach. Have fun!!

Has anyone been camping in a tent with their doodle?? We didn't get to go last year, but are planning to go in a couple of weeks time with both of ours (16months and 5 months old). We will all be sleeping together in a tent though!! (I am praying for good weather, I don't fancy sleeping in a tent with two wet doodles!!)

No more tenting for me! Those days are so over! LOL! (I would wake up one giant ball of pain - lol)
