ALMOST HEAVEN (HELL) UPDATE - PLEASE HELP:
THIS JUST IN...
ALL 285+ DOGS HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO 10 DIFFERENT RESCUES. THEY ARE ALL SPOKEN FOR.
THEY WILL BE EVALUATED, VETTED AND SOCIALIZED AND ONLY THEN, BE PUT UP FOR ADOPTION. NO WORD ON WHEN, IT WILL PROBABLY BE ON A DOG BY DOG BASIS.
The DRRC brought home one of that monster's dogs yesterday and are trying to get 6 more of his dogs into adoptive or foster homes.
We named the one we brought home, Finnigan. He is a young (1-2 years) old, neutered male. He is the sweetest thing I ever met, especially for what he has been through. We just couldn't leave him there. He is a tripod, missing his front left leg. I don't even want to think about how that happened, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He is completely, housebroken, walks great on a leash and loves to snuggle. I am always amazed at how these dogs are willing to give humans another chance. He has had all is shots and is ready for adoption. We are fostering him until that time and already have a couple of applications from IDOG and DRRC folks.
If anyone can help out, even a couple dollars for the vet fees, it would be greatly appreciated.

and 100% - ALL OF IT, goes to the dogs.

Lynn I can foster one or two dogs....and POSSIBLE have a home for a Male...let me know.

Anyone can fill out an IDOG or DRRC application and be prepared for when they are released.
NONE of the AH rescues will be ready for at least a few weeks.
ALL will be spayed/neutered and will need time to be socialized to human touch. That is what takes the longest. One female we saw, we couldn't even get close to because she was so afraid. Other's were so starved for love that it broke my heart to leave them. They would put their heads in my lap and looked so sad, just looking for any attention.
As I said before, I hope the devil is preparing a very special place in hell just for monsters like him.

Lynne,this is awful poor thing I could not help but cry as I was reading this. I am so glad they shut him down. Oh, these poor dogs.

I e-mailed someone about the Almost Heaven (Hell) story. He said, "Is this the guy you were telling me about a couple of weeks ago? He deserves to be locked in a very small cage and forced to eat only dog food. And not the good stuff that you feed Halas!" The food comment at least made me smile. The dogs are going to be safe now, which is something to smile about, but that's still hard to do seeing what they've been through.

I have a hard time reading about this story or anything like it. I get all weepy so I try to avoid.

I don't remember which members are looking, I just remember seeing comments on their profiles saying they were looking for a rescue. Hopefully they will see this.

They have to wait until all are evaluated and vetted. We will let everyone know something as soon as we know something.

When you say "all are spoken for" do you mean HOMES have been found or only that they have shelter to go to?

They are all spoken for by rescues and no-kill shelters like Mainline. It will be at least a few weeks until they are available for adoption from what we are being told. They all have to be evaluated, spayed/neutered then decisions can be made. We are talking about going back out there next week. Don't forget, they have had no interactions with people (except bad) and need to be socialized, too. It may take longer for some than for other's. I don't know how many are puppies, they will probably socialize faster.
