I saw the earlier discussion on coat types, and I have no idea what any of them mean! Wiry, fleece, wool, soft, absolutely no idea. My breeder says Madden will have a long soft coat. A random person said she will have a wiry, straight to low wave coat. Of course she does not know my dogs parents so that was just her guess. Even still, I dont get the lingo... and I have no idea what to expect when she grows up! So if you get what this means I would love to hear it!
You can check out the pics on my page. Lilly is 1yr. old and she has a straight to wavy coat..She is real easy to keep brushed and she only ever matted under her collar a little bit. Hope this helps. :)
Just looking at your pics I dont think your dog will look like the picture above. Maddens coat will be less profuse and shorter. If you go to my page you will see before and after pics (Abby just had a haircut). The before pics will show you how dense and thick her coat was....right from her first puppy pics.
No chance that Madden will look that thick and fleecy...this pup looks close enough to Madden's age that if Madden doesn't look like this now...he won't look like this ever. But your pup may still fluff out quite a bit and will still be adorable! You just never know when they start off more retriever looking.
Did your breeder know you wanted a pup like that above and did she tell you that yours will look different?
The dog above will probably get curlier and thicker and longer in coat than he is even now.
Then again sometimes there is a surprise.
This is Louise's Toby at 10 weeks:
4.5 months
And he ended up very thick and curly:
I imagine that Madden will be soft and wispy...maybe a little thicker with some developing wave as she matures, soft and shaggy at most.
WOW, how did that dog go from wispy to super curly!?!? I guess every goldendoodle is like a surprise haha. Maybe I just will never know until she is full grown...
