Overnight golf ball sized lump in throat!

Wednesday Abby was wonderful. Had a great day - played for hours with her BFF. Yesterday morning she woke up with a golf ball sized growth under the left jaw inside (where the gland would be - like a goiter). I thought maybe she swallowed a bee so I gave her benadryl. Then in the evening low dose aspirin. No change this morning still. She hasnt eaten yesterday or today. She has no Abby zest. I am scared now and am frantically trying to get into the vet in the next town as our local is on holidays. I dont think it has anything to do with a bee. Cross your fingers that I can get in! The receptionist is going to talk to the vet and call me. She cant yawn!

It isnt smaller but it is harder. (DH thinks it is bigger) I dont think so but it definitely feels very hard. She is feeling a bit better...she was counter surfing this morning, and pulled out her favourite toy. But still not regular Abby because she lies around most of the time. I hope this clyndamicin is a miracle drug that can cure my puppy by Monday!

I really appreciate all the prayers and positive thoughts for Abby! Keep it up because I believe in the power of the collective!

I am hoping that the meds are working...I had that with one of mine several years ago and it was an abscessed tooth...It was hard, but the meds seemed to work in about 48 hrs. But he was older, and the vet did not want to operate if he didn't have to, but we ended up having the tooth removed and that was that...BUT maybe the meds are working on Abby, if she is more active and eating, that is a good sign....Hugs to both of you from your friends here in Florida....Keep us informed please....Cheryl, Oliver & Renegade the Aussie,,

Ouch! I hope Abby is feeling better and you and DH are holding up ok. We will keep our fingers crossed that all goes well. It is a good sign that she was counter surfing today. I bet it would be kinda hard to fuss at her under the circumstances and heartening to see get into a bit of mischief.
