Hefty fines and new charges against kennel owner

The owner of the former Almost Heaven Kennel has been fined $152,900 by the state and is facing more than 200 new charges stemming from the raid and closure of the operation last month.
The state Department of Agriculture says it has fined Derbe "Skip" Eckhart for each dog that he kept at the kennel at 4202 Chestnut St. in Upper Milford Township after he exhausted appeals of his 2009 kennel license denial.
Chris Ryder, an agriculture department spokesman, said the department fined Eckhart $100 a day for seven days for all 216 dogs that should have been removed between June 16 and June 23.
In addition, the department fined Eckhart $100 for each of 17 dogs that it says were transferred out of the kennel after June 6 without the state's approval.

Eckhart was charged this week with 216 counts of violating the state dog law because he failed to remove 216 dogs from the kennel after the his appeal period ended, according to a complaint filed at District Court in Emmaus.
He faces an additional 17 counts of violating a cease and desist order by transferring 17 dogs out of the kennel without approval of the state.
Under the terms of his license denial, Eckhart was not allowed to transfer animals without approval of a dog warden.
Eckhart has 30 days to pay the fine, but also has 15 days to appeal the penalty.

If that was the case...what does his effect on Men who purchased dogs from him mean, or husbands and wives, it's not just women who he suckered...again you people were not there and dealing with him...to know how this man could b******* a buffalo off a nickle. The guy point blank is nothing but a Hoarder..he has all the patterns of it...

It truly is mind boggling that the laws haven't been changed even to the point that they would allow someone that has these charges brought against them keep ownership of any dog. The State should have the dogs as their wards or the Humane Society or somebody keep the dogs until the charges are either dropped, he is fined or whatever the judicial system finally does. THEN if he is allowed to get the dogs back they should only be returned if they are spayed or neutered. What would possilby possess the State to allow him or anyone else in the PM business to get back intact dogs???

#1 - my other 2 dogs came from breeders - who whom were AKC judges

WAS ASKED ...YOU can't accept that and want to make a mountain out of a moll hill. End It As for my story...it has never changed since it started, you's are the ones trying to twist everything around and nit pick at everything said, and not just me..but others on this site as well feel the same way. I have stated Hannah is my service dog, and have clearly stated in the past she was spayed at 8 to 9 months of age, microchipped, and had her eye surgery at the same time, which the breeder paid for her surgery due to her eye problems and he stood behind his health guarantee. I do not go around on this site asking anyone if their dog is spayed or neutered...why...Cause its none of my business...same rule applies for my dogs.

Both of her dogs are service dogs and Hannah is a fantastic shopper but Hannah is "deathly affraid of people after 6 months of socializing her."

no you read the clarification of that post to Karen's same reply where I stated my two service dogs were Magic and Holly...two Rottweilers I had several years ago till they passed away from old age. I didn't know I had to give every detail exactly because some are to stupid to read between lines! Had you read the clarification you would understand what was said and meant..so you sound so dumb because you only copy and paste bits and pieces to suit yourself and harass someone...Also I have never said Honey was a service dog...Hannah yes..and Jacquie is the one who got the dogs names mixed up....as to who and where they came from..NOT ME...again go back and read...you's sound really stupid....and harassing again...I really don't care how many conncetions you think you have, my personal business is my business about my health...thats the law...wanna mess with it...

Both my dogs are covered under the ADA with my Doctors letter which I carry with me where ever we go, and if anyone ask, I gladly offer it. Have you never talked about past animals you owned....I never said which dogs, never game names...you all assumed I was talking about Hannah and Honey..again that is on you...I clarified it that I was talking about my two Rotties. Little bit of advice...MINDING YOUR OWN BUSINESS GOES A LONG WAY...
