IDOG and the DRC are looking for anyone who could volunteer to pull two doodles from a shelter in the Virginia Beach area. There is transport available to the Northeast via truck from the other side of VA. Can anyone go to Va Beach and pull these dogs for rescue???
If you have any photos, I could maybe enlist the assistance of my godchild, who just graduated from Sweet Briar, and is working now in their admissions office. She fell in love with my BeauBeau when I brought him to her graduation in May. She just lost her Papillon at age 14....he was a very loved doggy, and I'm certain she would provide a loving home.
Ellen, we need someone who can just pull the dogs from the shelter...not necessarily give them a home or adopt them, although that would be great. They are in a kill shelter, and there is transport available to get them to foster homes, but someone has to physically go to the shelter, get the dog(s) and handle the paperwork which transfers them over to our rescue. Arrangements would be made thereafter to get the dog(s) to wherever they are going. There is a link to the Petfinder listing above, where you can see a photo of one of the dogs.
never mind.....I clicked on the link and saw the picture of a darling female and already forwarded it on to my godchild. I think they could be a good match! Is there a charge to adopt? Do you know the size or weight? are they gd's or ld's?
The dogs are tagged for rescue by IDOG....They are not available for adoption,..we simply need someone who is in that area to go and extract them and then TEMPORARILY foster for 2 weeks so that we can vet them and transport them to a foster in the NY area....The transport requires a 2 week quartantine....
At this point if someone can pull them and drive them to Delaware or DC I will meet you there and pick them up right away..Otherwise, they have to be in quarantine.,.....
that's great! OK I will stop working on this. My godchild is in her first job, and has to travel a lot of the time, although she was grateful for my telling her about the dogs.
