I think Ollie is kind of low energy for a puppy! I read others posts about having to tire their doodle out and Ollie rarely needs that. He is only 13 weeks so maybe its because he is still so young? We got the all clear from the vet to talk him out this weekend and we went to lunch and then the park and by the end - Ollie was so exhausted we took turns carrying him?!! Is this normal for a 3 month old? Maybe we are expecting too much?

Also - when he sleeps - he breathes so rapidly - is that a puppy thing too?

I love mellow! Thank your lucky stars he's not jumping off the walls =)
Although, puppies do sleep a lot, so you may notice an increase in energy as he gets a bit older.
Hi there, well our Oliver is almost 15 weeks old, and he is kind of mellow too....Oh he has his crazy times, lol, where once a day he goes running nuts around the house, and then just drops, lol...But I have an older dog here too, and maybe he is learning from him, Reny is really a mellow boy, always was. We haven't really taken Oliver on long walks yet, he just finished his last puppy shot yesterday, and still needs his rabies which he will get in 2 weeks. But when I had him working with a trainor, he would just poop out after the lesson. So I am thinking that this is a puppy thing...He is sleeping right next to my foot right now, lol, but his breathing has never been fast, at least not that I have ever seen. Oh, this morning he made it to 6:30 am, an hour later then usual, so that was a treat for us...He is now at 21 1/2 lbs, and he is not fat at all...I for one hope he remains on the mellow side, mellow is good, lol...for us anyway....
Timbow was pretty mellow at that age too. It was at about 5 months that he got a lot of energy. When they're really young, they're still kind of like babies where they will play for a while and then need to take a nap. I'm sure in a month or two you will be having to tire Ollie out too! :) Another thing I noticed is that Timbow started gaining more and more energy once we could take him on walks (we started out with very short walks so he wasn't overwhelmed and worked our way up to longer ones).
I am sure his energy level will increase with his age. Mine was fairly mellow when he was little, which was fine by me. But now that he is no longer a baby, look out!
