Can a doodle not be curly?

Just adopted a female 10 week old golden doodle. We have had 3 goldens and miss them. This time, we wanted the same disposition without the shedding. The puppy we brought home is delightful. Kids love her and adapting well to crate and new home. However, she looks like a golden. That's not necessarily a problem as I love goldens, but we were wondering if the shedding would be a problem without the typical doodle coat. If I hadn't seen the parents myself, I would question whether this pup is really a doodle. Her other 2 littlermates had very slight curly coats.

Check out my pics. Gunner is alot of Golden, very little poodle. Many people say they can't see any poodle in him. I did see both parents. He was a 1st generation which usually means more shedding, but he sheds ALOT. We do keep him long, so we expect that. Most his doodle friends & relatives have alot of poodle tendencies. He seems to take on most of the Golden, so yes, doodles can have very little poodle in their coat & personality & be a doodle.

Calla is a 6 mo. old ALD and she has long, wavy lab-like hair and she doesn't shed.

Samanthais an F1. I never saw her parents. Straight hair - her body is very lab like

Samantha's coat is a little wavy - does NOT shed. Only the top of her head is curly, the color of a latte!

Cirrus still has pretty straight and has never shedded. He is 15 months old so I think it will stay about the same. Nimbus had straight hair until about 8 months and his hair has gotten more and more curly with age both are f1b Neither have ever shedded.

We have two F1 goldendoodles. One (Bentley) has curly hair and weighs in at 65 lbs, the other (toby)has long wavy hair and tips the scale at 101lbs. They are almost three now but when toby was a puppy I feared he'd never get hair. Now it's very long and not very curly. Upside, he's easier to groom, downside, he sheds more than Bentley, our curly guy.
