Della has thrown up 2 socks this week...I cannot even imagine where she is finding them and I am really worried. She just turned 7 mo. old and I am so worried about something happening to her.

Be careful! My friend has a Bernese Mountain Dog that needed $1000 surgery because he ate a sock that wouldn't come back up!!!!
I don't know what it is with socks or underwear but when I'm folding clothes, Allie will sniff them both out of the laundry basket - AFTER they are clean!!!!! lol.
LOL, story of my life!!!! I have raised many, many pups and have NEVER had one that eats socks like my Rose does. When she was young she'd throw them up most of the time. Once she spent the day at the vets, had 8 x-rays and a barium treatment. At the end of the day she pooped it out. That was an expensive trip! Now, at almost 8 months she can poop them out easily.
I don't want to make light of this, because it is VERY dangerous! However, I know how difficult is is when you have a pup that is a sock eater. They don't just eat them because they come across them. They seek them out and go to extreme measures to find them. All my hampers have lids on them now...she learned to open them. I put the hampers with lids in the closet....she learned to open the door...using the handle!!!! She can also open the kids bedroom doors. She knows that's the best place to find them. I fold and put away socks AS I TAKE THEM OUT OF THE DRYER! Yet, she still manages to find one, once in a while. If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be funny.
I'm waiting for her to out grow it. The vet says some pups just have a sock fetish....fortunately he said most outgrow it by a year.
My sock eater and my kids. Other then eating socks, she's a VERY GOOD puppy.
My 'Piper' is also seven months old and on occasion finds a sock and throws it up later. I had two socks on the counter last night. One I found shredded and the other is missing. I expected it would come up last night, but no signs of it yet. I haven't been to worried because she has always thrown them up. I have to hide everything lately. She is now checking out the counters in the kitchen and she ate the mail yesterday. Good luck! I hope this is just a period that will end soon. Piper thinks her middle name is "Drop It" and "Leave It"! Marina
Piper just threw up the sock she ate one week ago. I'm glad we didn't end up at the doctor's. And of course she did this in front of our guest that had just arrived for the weekend. Stinky sock!!! Marina
Clean or Dirty: ( Dirty is Preferred )
Socks, Underwear, Bras, Toilet Paper, Hats, Mittens, Goose Poop ( Yum ), Eye Boggers, Pillows, Blankets, Potatoes,
Reading Glasses, Cats................if it is a no, he gets into it. He can get into the side of the chest of drawers and pull out the clean cloths. Again, dirty is the preferred though.
Yes, this is dangerous. So Dangerous. I think it will be years until I can trust this dog alone for 2 minutes. Actually, I'm scared to death about this. Yesterday he threw up a wash cloth. I don't even know where this wash cloth came from because I don't own one with this pattern. I'm frustrated.
Typical Male-Pervert.-Likes the RED Bra the most.
My husband told me last night, as I was panicking about Gidget eating my sons vitamin, that his friends dog ate a bra and pooped it out in TWO PIECES!!!! The thought of pooping out a bra just sounds painful, lol.
Gidget is only 10 weeks and she seeks out underwear and socks both! Well, right now, she'd take anything she can find but she'd choose the undies and socks over anything else.
Oh but Jeanie--she has such strong teeth to chew with :) She takes her vitamins too. I certainly hope that your husbands friends dog did not have to poop out the under wire also!
I woke up this morning to find Harlow had 'redsigned' one of my almost new Rocketdog slip on tennies. I had even picked up my shoes and thought they were high enough for her not to get them.
For some bizarre reason Harlow finds my trouser socks, bras and DD’s underwear irresistible. Not the dirty ones mind you, but the freshly laundered ones waiting in the laundry basket to be folded. Maddie has lost more than one of those pieces of string she calls underwear. Twice now she has thrown up one of my socks. We now try to fold and put everything as soon as they come out of the dryer.
Honey (aka Shreeky the Shreeder) is not really a digester of clothing articles, she just enjoys shreeding everything else she can, paper, pens...etc...its funny cause I can set other things on my desk, she never touches them..dvd's..phone, wires for computer...but get near paper, my mail, pens and its all over...she will shreed and chew the daylights out of them, but never swallows any of it that I am aware of. She did do an unlite candle in my bedroom and got the runs from that about three weeks ago, I noticed her love for them is now begining, so now I hide them.
