So far Chewie does good in the car, but now he's getting bigger and I'm looking for suggestions on the best ways for him to ride safely. When I last had dogs, there weren't all these choices and I am open to suggestions, advice, etc. What works for you and your doodle?

TIA!

When I used a car harness, I lengthened the loop from the harness by using an extra large collar that I found in the sale somewhere. This gave him a little more room to move and helped to stop him from getting all twisted up.
He should definitely be restrained in some way, just in case you guys get into an accident. It will keep him safe. We began with a harness that attached to the seatbelt when they were puppies. I have an SUV, so now they travel in the trunk and I have a grille that is up between the trunk and the seats to keep them back there in case of an accident.
Our 4 year old doodle climbs all over the place in the car - making it rather unsafe. We have just added 2 of her puppies to the household and we have purchased a barrier for the back of the car. Much safer and saves me from having a 45lb dog sitting on my lap when my husband is driving. I heard the seat belt harnesses work well too!!
