Honey AKA (Shreky the Shredder) has a huge bad habit that I can not break no matter what, and mostly behind my back, if I go into the kitchen and she is in my computer room, which is also the grooming/dog crate/dog playroom. She will only shreed certain items like Pen's and Paper. I can leave my pills sit out on top of my desk and she never touches them or wires to my computer, but pens, paper, Money oh boy does she shred them. I just had to take a dollar bill to the bank to have it replaced because she shreeded it, didn't eat it, just chewed it apart, the bank thought it was funny. Hannah and Honey have toys all over this place, no need to chew my stuff, or go on my desk and destroy things. Hannah will actually rat her out, if I'm not in the room, she will continously bark till I come and see what Honey is up to, so I know she got something she was not suppose to have. I have crated Honey, and Hannah lets her out. Hannah has also done this with my sisters dogs when she visits and her dogs are crated.

I have a can with a step-on lid, it closes firmly, but from what you say about Ned, he probably would just learn to open it! He sounds like quite the character!
My two guys shred anything they can find while we are out. If I go out to water, they find something and shred it. I run an errand, they find something to shred. They can not stand to be left alone. We give them a busy bone, but they still shred a magazine, mail, paper, tissues, whatever they can find. I think we will need to go back to crating.
Lili enjoys shredding too . . . had to capture this one on the camera :) I've tried to increase her chew items which tends to help and I try to pick up my shoes and limit what she has access to. Good luck!

Ned!

Oh Ned, you and Honey would make the perfect couple.
So far I have really been blessed with the items Honey has shredded. I keep the bathroom blocked off cause I know my house would be tp-ed if not. I always keep a stack of napkins on my computer desk and if I don't put them up high, she will get them also...the other day she did the cutest thing. I had a CD sitting on their grooming table, she went up on it, took the CD and ran to her bed as though I didn't see her. I didn't say a word, wanted to see what the little turd would do with it. She flipped up the pad in the bed, took the CD and hid it underneath the pad. So now I'm watching all of this out of the corner of my eye, and she lies down on the pad as though she was an angel. By now I'm laughing at her, and told her, bring me the CD, she ignores me. I told her again to bring it, and she goes under the pad, puts it in her mouth and walked right over to me and put it in my hand. I couldnt stop laughing at her, thing is ..does she know to bring things to you, was this a fluke, is it hit and miss with her, or was it because it wasn't her flavor of the month..lol? Don't really know at this point, but she sure did make me happy and proud of her.
Honey it too cute! Ned would NEVER bring the offending item to me. He wouldn't run with it though - at least I have that!
There is this lemon tasting spray that you can buy ( dogs hate the taste ) spray it on stuff you don't want your dogs chewing on.
My dogs LOVE the supposedly bad tasting stuff. What is with that????? Picky with food and not picky with "bad" stuff.
Once Charlie chewed up my daughter's passport!! And out of all pages, she only chewed up the photo and informational page.....She will not shredd/chew things as long as someone is watching her, - does not even go get the paper - but as soon as unattended, something important get shredded.......Always she picks something important!!
