Looks like we lost the weight up-date discussion some how.
I enjoyed checking into it every now and then, so I decided to make a vol. 2.
Charlie was 13.7lb @ 10 1/2 wks, 19.7lb @ 15wks, 22.3 lb @ 16 wks, 30lb @ 23 wks, and now 35lb @ 27 wks.
I have heard for minis, just double the weight around 4 months. There is a discussion in the mini/medium doodle group on here - it seems to me that most just about double their weights at 4 months. If that holds true, Peri will be about 30 pounds, which is exactly what our breeder thought. I can't see her getting much bigger than that! She is about 16 pounds right now - 4.5 months or 19 weeks today.
I think Charlie must be on the smaller side. Yvonne N's Astro is 50 lbs. at 19 wks.(on the larger side, going for 100 lbs,, right Yvonne?!) Sounds like Charlie is probably a moyen doodle (medium) rather than a standard. Cimmy is about 33 lbs today at 17 wks and I look at her and think this is what a full grown mini would be like. Awefully cute!!!
I know what you mean. Cimmy's parents are both good size - her poodle dad, is also big. Last year's litter by the same parent's produced males and females that were large. Females around 80 lbs and males that are 90 to 95. One of the males doesn't weigh as much,I think around 75 lbs., but I saw him in June and he was one of the tallest GD I have EVER seen. Cimmy's litter mates - all males- are considerably larger than she is - a good 10 to 15 lbs more. Cimmy will be on the small side, the runt at about 70 to 75 lbs.
I certainly wouldn't call Charlie "petite", but I guess based on the above both of our girls are. :0)
Yeah. When I was getting her, I asked for a smallest female. So I am happy with her size.
If she was 75 lb and as energetic as she is, I will be in trouble!
