Looks like we lost the weight up-date discussion some how.
I enjoyed checking into it every now and then, so I decided to make a vol. 2.
Charlie was 13.7lb @ 10 1/2 wks, 19.7lb @ 15wks, 22.3 lb @ 16 wks, 30lb @ 23 wks, and now 35lb @ 27 wks.
But he is only a little over 1/2 year old? I think you are going to have a big dog - all the more to love. You are ready to join the Heavyweights group. See you there!
Charli - Mom F2 LD, Dad SP - as per the resuce (PM so I don't know their weights or heights)
10 weeks 8.2 lbs
11 weeks 13.0 lbs 12"
12 weeks 14.5 lbs 14.5"
Lynda,
I wonder if she was as old as I was told. She looked like such an infant but over this weekend (3 week anniversary of her adoption) she finally looks like a puppy. I am certainly no expert but....
She eats like every meal is her last. She is up to 3 3/4 cups of kibble plus chicken and veggies for dinner plus treats with training. She is always ready to eat. She is no way fat at all. You can feel her ribs and her spine so maybe growth spurt????
It doesnt seem as compared to the other postings she is going to be a big Doodle. Guess only time will tell!
OMD - 3 & 3/4 cups of kibble plus chicken and veggies! It is no wonder that she gained five pounds in a week. Hondo eats about 4 cups of food (total) daily and Groucho Too only eats about 3 cups. And they are not little dogs. How many times a day is she eating? Puppies often eat 3 times a day and then cut down to two feedings later on. Some people only feed adult dogs once a day, but I have never been able to do that.
What is the general age of all cessation of growth? Our breeder said Dewey would be around 60-65 lbs. and i'll be damned if he hasn't leveled off there at the age of 9 months. Should/Could i expect more growth? I don't have a height measurement but he is a long dog.
Will I Am,
It is hard to tell and the only information I have it what I read on DK. So from an eclectic mix of responses I came to the conclusion that it peaks around 8-9 months in weight with only a small weight gain of a few pounds as they reach one year and in height they may ad another inch.
As I said above that is just what I assumed after reading other posts.
