Bailey has finally transitioned over from the breeder food to Eagle Pack Holistic Select Chicken and Rice, an all life stages food. He is pretty reliably pooping right after each of his 3 meals and again 2-3 hours later. He also goes in the morning before breakfast after waking up; this means he poops 7 times a day! Each poop is formed and maybe like play-doh in consistency (sorry for being graphic.)

Because he is somewhat regular in his times I am thinking this isn't really an issue, but then you hear people said their pup goes twice a day; makes me second guess. He has only been on the new food 100% 3 days, so all may change when his system gets use to it. I transitioned over from the breeder's food over a 10 day period, so it was a slow transition. He also went almost this often when he came to us, so maybe it is just him, not the food.

I know if you over feed a dog there can be tummy issues, but he is not being overfed, if anything I am underfeeding him.

Rico is 10 weeks and I've transitioned him to Wellness large breed puppy food. He goes 3 times a day like clockwork now. I don't know if it makes any difference how many X's. From what I've read here and elsewhere it's just making sure the food isn't loaded with corn products, right?
Dexter is 7 months and he has always been a frequent pooper haha. he goes 4 times or so a day. he's also had his days where it's been as many as 6 times or so! I think as long as it's the right consistency, it's probably ok.
I would settle for 4 times a day; at least Bailey is regular so we know when to expect him to go. My older doodle now goes 2-3 times and that is a blessing; she also was a frequent pooper, but she had problems, so I think that was her issue.

Eagle Pack Holistic Select is a very good food, no corn or other crap in it!
I decided to see if Bailey would do better not on a Chicken formula so we are transitioning to California Natural Lamb Meal and Rice. After the food trials I went through with Piper, I decided to go with a simple food for Bailey. If he does better on Lamb, I will leave him on this until he is a year old and rethink what he eats.

I noticed just a tiny bit of scratching, but that may just be normal. But, if it is a food allergy or intolerance, better to change foods now.
