Just watching the 1st segment anyone who is thinking of getting a doodle will change their mind! I am so embarrassed for this owner!!
I wish I could see it. We do not get that particular channel. I wish we did. My neighbors leave this channel on for their 5 dogs to watch when they are not home.
Darn, I missed it. Oh well, the repeats are on often.
they usually show repeats around 11 or 12:00p.m. if your up or could tape it
Good looking dood, his owner definitely needs to find her inner pack leader.
Great looking Dood that needs to be brushed more often. I can't believe that she didn't knowing she was going to be filmed!
I was reminded in PK class last week about making 'chase the human' a game for safey sake. We have been practicing it - Samantha just loves it and Charli sits and looks at me like I lost my mind.
I never was told or thought about the 2 ball (toy) thing - makes perfect sense! That I will definitely bring to our training sessions with Charli.
Her tips were perfect - we learn those in class - I always thought that 'wait' was the best thing I could teach Samantha. I guess Darla was another doggy owner who doesn't realize the importance of obedience training.
I had the same thought about brushing! Like, you're going to be on camera, get the brush!
I think she thought "no discipline = love". Or, he wouldn't love her any more if she disciplined him. Many parents make the same mistake!
I just love Victoria. I think she takes the most logical approach to training.
Watched it. Very good info. The owner definately needed the training..lol Jack is a cute doodle.
I enjoyed watching this one. The owner lives in a very pricey area - she couldn't afford a trainer for her dog????? One really good thing I am finally getting in my head is how powerful a few of the commands are, wait being one of them. I use wait but didn't think of using it when my guys crowd the door.
And why would you let your dog run around like that in a high traffic area, poor dog almost got hit by a car once on the show...think how many times this probably happened before the training. I think this show really showed the world the other side of the Doodle, not only are they playfull and full of energy but they learn quickly when we are trained right to teach them. As for grooming, I didn't notice at all her grooming this dog, and wondered what his skin must be like from all that sea salt from the ocean on him. Seems like they do the beach pretty often, and since she was laxed at training, she probably is at grooming him.
I thought the training was good. My doodle will not leave my Yorkie alone!- he is always try to play with her as if she is his size. As for the grooming- she could have at least brushed the dog for the show! Where was the husband in the deal?? All that he said was "Jack is a differnent dog. " He did nothing............ I agree with Adrienne- anyone thinking of getting a doodle my be discouraged by the totally untrained Jack!
Don't think she was married, I thought the boyfriend/friend is the one who contacted Victoria. The guy who had the dark hair on the beach and later in the show (not the guy on the boat), shows up at the end when the dog almost gets hit by the car. I honestly do not think that show would discourage anyone from having what they want. All dogs on that show are not trained right so that could be said for every breed that is on the show, and as Victoria stated "She's not coming to train a dog, she's coming to train the owner"! Which in this case was the one who needed the training the most.
