JUBBA

After a couple years of occasionally searching online for "the one," my eyes fell on his perfect pink snout, and I knew it was time. He was sweet and big and black and in serious need of a home. Just the kind of pig I had wanted! Except for----I live in Austin, and he had been rescued in Iowa. After much nervousness adopting someone I'd never met, and spending more money than I'd intended on the relocation part of his adoption, I hired a driver off www.uship.com. Several days later a man in a seatless minivan arrived with my big pig riding shotgun! Moments later--reality. He was terrified and ran and hid in a bush. Uh-oh. Now my husband and I were terrified too! But needless to say, after several days of checking one another out, lots of snacks, and relaxing into both our adjusted new lives, it was perfect. And he was/is the "one." He loves long naps under the oak trees, movie night in front of the TV, and lounging in the pool during hot Texas days. He fits right in in this family! Thanks, Petfinder. Glad to have you home, Jubba!

I am not crossing that line! Love the rescue story, tho. I guess everyone needs a home.
Awww come on! What do you mean you aren't crossing that line? Can you imagine hiring a Moving Company to bring a rescue to your home? LOL

Do you think he would be a good pack leader?
actually pot belly pigs make great pets...they are very trainable and use cat litter boxes, don't know how they fit in one when they get to be that big..but...lol We use to go to a mall in Jersey right off of 78 and they had baby pot belly pigs, the price was just about what you would pay for a Doodle.
Are these pot belly? I thought they were small. Dunno. I was a city girl before I moved to the burbs. We have horses and donkeys on our block....... but I will stick with doods.
looks like a pot belly pig..from what i have seen of them..some can get pretty big...and if you over feed them...
Here's some facts I found about pot belly pigs....lol

A full grown Vietnamese potbellied pig can be anywhere from 100 to 250 pounds and not be overweight, and is still considered a miniature potbellied pig. The average size seems to be 120 to 150 pounds but just like humans, pigs do come in various sizes and weights. With proper feeding and exercise your pig will grow to its predetermined genetic size. You can affect your pet pig's weight through overfeeding, underfeeding, or a lack of exercise (just like us!). This is not a good idea and could cause serious health problems!!
Jubba is kinda cute!! But I think I'll stick to doodles too!
