Dog Park Associations

This is not exactly a doodle issue but I thought some may have experience here. In my area's dogpark we are forming a sort of support organization (similar to a neighborhood association) for liason purposes with the governing park forces. We really want to organize to make an effort to get things done for the park, make rules, etc. Has anyone have experience with this sort of group? If so, any comments are greatly appreciated.

I was part of a committee that established our current dog park...but we formed BEFORE the dog park existed, not after. Not sure exactly how your group will operate...
