Seriously, I'm not even joking! Noah has the strangest behavior when it comes to food. He will not eat anything he has not tried before until he examines it. If I try to give him a new treat or people food he has never tried, he will poke it in my hand, let it drop to the floor, stare at it, wait to see my other dog eat it, and then decide it's ok - he did this with string cheese, cooked chicken, FILET MIGNON!!!! He doesn't get these often, but now he will eat all three of these right away now that he knows what they are. We joke that Noah thinks we are trying to poison him, but it is a very odd behavior. He has absolutely no other trust issues, and is constantly by my side, very obedient and loving. The good thing I guess is that he never begs for food unlike my other dog.

My Golden did this her whole 8 yrs of life! The first time it happened was with a little bit of filet I handed it to her she dropped it, ran around it a couple of times, picked it up threw it in the air, then ate it! We were shocked! One good thing we never had to worry about was her grabbing food out of a child's hand, off the counter or table. After this she did eat steak when we gave it to her. Gus doesn't counter surf, beg at the table or try to snatch things when no ones looking unless it's a dog treat. Bear on the other hand can walk by the table grab a tidbit without anyone knowing!
