I went through all of my old pics of Lucy for the 2010 calendars and 99% of them are no good. SO, I decided to take photos of her today on this gorgeous day. WELL, either it is me or she is just being a smarty pants. She would NOT look at me >:-o I ended up taking tons of pics just to get a couple to send to Adina. I would not be a good pet or, for that matter, baby photographer. I do not have the patience. Here are a couple of examples, and she deliberately would not look at me. She would move her eyes to look at me, but not her head. How do you guys do it. I see some great pics here on DK, I am jealous.

What usually works for my dogs is to ask them a question, really emphasizing the "question mark" with a higher lilting voice at the end:

"Do you want to go on a walk?"
"Are you hungry?"
"Do you like squirrels?"

Always makes them look at me intrigued =)
That works for me, too, but NOT if I'm holding a camera! The only way I can get a decent photo of his face is if someone else snaps it while I ask him questions.
My dood is a total ham. He gets all excited when he sees the camera and will pose as long as I want him to. I have no idea why.
does Lucy like to go in the car, like some dogs love ... "Go Bye Bye" and will turn their heads and watch you, or you can try the watch me command with food in your one hand and move it towards your eyes,
and sometimes squeaky toys get their attention also...or a whistle...
Oh Karen I will take about 100 pictures and get a few that are good. Often Ned does cooperate, but.....he will have red eyes or it will be blurry or I realize there is a really poor background! Or I zoom

the picture on the camera and delete the original and find out that the close-up is blurry and the original would have been fine. or....... the lighting was terrible and I see what a wonderful picture it might have been. I have tried to take pictures of my DIL's whippet racing and I have NEVER gotten one that is clear! When I have someone to help me pose Ned I get better pictures than when I try to do it myself.
That is funny Nancy, Love the pic too. That is what I had to end up doing, my DD just happened to walk across the yard and had a cinnamon roll in her hand and we used it to get Lucy to look at me. BUT, she is very wise, she knows I want her to pose and she just does that to torment me. Like I said, she will move her eyes back and forth looking at me, but will not turn her head just because she knows I want her too.
You hvae a beatufull doodle. Try holding a treat above the camera to get her to look at it.
Thanks KingstonTodd, That is exactly what my DD did with the cinnamon roll. And it worked for a couple of pics anyway.
Have you tried asking her a question? Seriously. The upwards intonation in your voice oftern results in the doodle "what the heck" held tilt. Classic.
I haven't tried that one yet, but I will.
These are all good suggestions, and I have tried just about all of them. She is just tooooo wise.
