Abandoned Dogs in Illinois--know anyone who can help? (Crosspost)
I'm copying this post that IDOG put up on another forum:
"FOSTER HOMES NEEDED FOR VERY SCARED, HALF STARVED PUPPIES... ILLINOIS
These 5 pups were abandoned out in the middle of nowhere near Carthage Illinois.
2 others were found already dead. These 5 were so scared that it took several hours to get them safely into custody. They are almost starved and in appalling condition.
They will be going to the vet to be examined and shaved (under sedation) then we will be moving them up to the Chicago area.
We are looking for kind hearted people who would be willing to take a weak, scared and un-socialized puppy into heir home until he/she is well enough to be vetted and adopted.
These pups are not used to being handled and are scared and have absolutely no reason why they should ever trust a human being - this is not a situation where they can go into homes with young children or with people who do not understand dog behavior. These dogs need calm environments where they can mend and learn to trust.
Please email us as soon as possible if you can find it in your heart to help.
We believe the curly dogs to be standard poodles and the flat coated dog to be a labradoodle. We do not know sex or weight at this stage."
